Founded by decorated executive and respected artist Terrence “Punch” Henderson, aroomfullofmirrors is a 13-person collective with differing styles that come together to create a whole greater than the sum of its parts. Today, the collective delivers the purest distillation of their individual and group talents to date, releasing their group freestyle “Creative Luxury 2” to all platforms.
” “Creative Luxury 2” is a sweeping epic, with a sumptuous bassline that each member rides with aplomb. The freestyle features verses from 12 members of aroomfullofmirrors, starting with the fly stylings of L.A.-via-D.C. artist Shah Infinite and concluding with a gruff verse from Watts’ own Vo’Nycole. Their verses are bookends to the massive, 10-minute freestyle, which allows talented collective members like Daylyt, Ichiban Don, iAMLYRIC, and many others, including Punch himself, to get their bars off.
Originally released on YouTube in August as a sequel to a 2024 freestyle of the same name, “Creative Luxury 2” presents the group with an opportunity to experiment with releasing in the digital age. Fans can stream “Creative Luxury 2” as one long piece, but the freestyle is also divided into 12 individual verses by each member. The unique release allows listeners to experience “Creative Luxury 2” as they see fit, by picking and choosing their favorite verses, switching up the order, or just letting it ride the way aroomfullofmirrors originally intended.
“Creative Luxury 2” is the latest release on the road to [redacted], the first full-length album by aroomfullofmirrors since 2021. Earlier in the summer, ARFOM dropped “World’s Gone Crazy,” an apocalyptic new single and accompanying music video. Produced by Grammy-winning sound architect Sounwave, “World’s Gone Crazy” is a searing missive that directly confronts society’s ills, including mass surveillance, A.I. art, ICE abductions, encroaching fascism, and much more. The video, directed by APlus, expands on those themes, the action in a way that evokes the ever-present CCTV of our current surveillance state.
Formed over a series of studio sessions in late 2019, aroomfullofmirrors thrives on in-person, real life collaboration, rooted in potent, storytelling, and cinematic world-building. The music takes inspiration from real life experiences and reflection, creating something that feels human, and deeply intentional. Every piece of art created is a mirror, inviting you to see yourself within it—your joys, your fears, your dreams, and your darkest moments.
