Video: Doodie Lo – “Hospice

The Kankakee-Born Rapper Taps Into His Emotional Side, Honoring His Family With the Latest Video From His Upcoming Album, What Made Me

The Video:

Never one to forget where he came from, Doodie Lo makes an effort to salute the people who have made him the man he is today. Today, the Only the Family rapper honors his loved ones with his new single “Hospice.” Over poignant keys, Doodie reflects on his relationship with his family, expressing his desire to make a difference in their lives: “See my granny, she on hospice / Went to see her and I started crying, I couldn’t stop it / Told my daddy I got M’s, save her with a doctor.” In the video, Doodie Lo heads home to Kankakee, IL to visit his grandmother, spoil his kids, and spend time with his dad.

“Hospice” arrives as Doodie Lo prepares to release What Made Me, his upcoming album. The track follows recent singles from the project like last month’s collaboration with BIG30, “4 Rings” and the impactful “Role Model.” Other street anthems like “Popeyes” ft. Icewear Vezzo & Deeski, “Smurkio Flow,” “Play With My Name,” and “Daddies Baby” helped Doodie Lo make his mark in 2023. What Made Me will be Doodie’s first full-length project since his 2021 debut project Big Doodie Lo, which is home to “Me & Doodie Lo,” an energetic collab between King Von and Doodie (over 20 million YouTube views), in which the legendary O-Block native gives Mr. Kankakee an enthusiastic co-sign. Over the past few years, Doodie Lo has considerably grown his profile, racking up over 80 million streams to date, gaining hundreds of thousands of YouTube subscribers and Spotify Monthly Listeners, and collaborating with heavy hitters like Kodak Black, Moneybagg Yo, Pooh Shiesty, and more.
