Critical Praise:

“[OMB Peezy] is tough but melodic, with a youthfully urgent voice and production that’s indebted to Louisiana and California.” – New York Times

“Sometimes all it takes is the right look, the right voice, or even the right beat to make an artist pop. With OMB Peezy, there’s a blend of all three.” – Pigeons and Planes

“This kid from Alabama is the future of rap.” – The FADER

The Video:

Armed with boundless youthful energy and two of the most appealing southern drawls in rap music, OMB Peezy & Sherwood Marty make an unbeatable tag team. Posting up on a traphouse porch, the two emcees reflect on the highs and lows of Thuggin” in their latest video. Rhyming over plaintive, piano-led production, Peezy and Marty delve into their pasts and share their deepest inspirations on the track, displaying the pride and pain that helped them rise out the mud. In the video, the two emcees show the charisma and chemistry that animated Young & Recklessand permeated the raucous video for its lead single “Crash Out.” With appearances from TK Kravitz and Sherwood Flame and production from Drum Dummie and others, Young & Reckless arrived earlier in 2018 via 300 Entertainment.

Born in Alabama, the 20-year-old Peezy moved to the west coast when he was 12, developing a reputation as a rap prodigy, building a following on YouTube, and gaining the respect of the new wave of Bay Area artists such as Nef The Pharaoh and legends such as E-40. In 2017, OMB Peezy parlayed his grassroots local fanbase into a national following, earning millions of combined streams on his singles like the virally popular hitsWhen I Was Down,” Porch,” and Lay Down,” which Pigeons & Planes listed at #14 in their halftime list of Best Songs of 2017 and which Passion of the Weiss listed as their #19 for the year. In October, Peezy shared his debut project Humble Beginnings, a slap-heavy six-pack produced in full by Grammy-nominated producer Cardo Got Wingz (Kendrick Lamar, Jeezy, Meek Mill) and released by Sick Wid It/300 Ent.. Peezy also toured throughout 2017, supporting Detroit artist Tee Grizzley in the fall and accompanying SOB x RBE on a national tour in the spring. In November, he collaborated with Gucci Mane on “Pray For Me,” a track by producer Adam Snow. In late 2017, Peezy shared videos for Humble Beginnings hits “Talk My Shit” and “Doin’ Bad,” and released a revealing documentary via TIDAL. Most recently, Peezy enjoyed a successful SXSW, including sets at the Revolt House, Sway In The Morning, and Facebook, which he documented in a recap vlog. Most recently, Peezy recruited Paper Lovee for the FADER-premiered Ride,” his latest single.

Signed to 300 Ent., Louisiana rapper Sherwood Marty burst onto the scene in 2016 with the breakthrough mixtape Struck in the Trenches: Self Made Vol. 1, which featured appearances from Scotty Cain and others. In 2017, Marty continued to build buzz, generating over 1.3 million views for his “Sherwood Baby” music video, earning more than 700k plays for his single “Ride,” and recording a popular remix to YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s hit single “Untouchable.” In February, Marty shared “Day In My Hood,” a Lil Baby-featuring single that earned over 1.2 million views on YouTube and earned a spot on Spotify‘s Most Necessary playlist. The latest in a long line of soulful Bayou-born rappers, Sherwood Marty will elevate his game even further in the coming year.
