Anybody who knows Nef the Pharaoh knows how much he, like most of his generation, reveres Cash Money Records. His biggest single to date, “Big Tymin,” with nearly 8M Spotify listens and nearly 9M YouTube views, is an homage the Big Tymers. In “Put You On,” a video premiered today by Billboard, Nef partners with one of his biggest inspirations, Juvenile. Filmed at the fifth annual Hiero Day festival in Oakland, California, the two trade raspy-voiced verses about staying loyal to your homies, while Nef brings the song together with a harmonic chorus. “Put You On” is the first single from Nef’s upcoming project.

Earlier this summer Nef released Fresh Outta Space 3, an album as sonically diverse and funky as the Bay Area itself. “Everything Big,” the project’s P-Lo-produced and FADER-premiered first single and a spiritual successor to “Big Tymin’,” is a valedictory track about Nef’s ability to provide for himself and his family and live a life of luxury at the same time. Dumb Life, the second single, is a hyphy anthem, the Architekz-produced “Do Ya Thang” is an inspirational track inspired by 2Pac’s “Keep Ya Head Up,” while the Snoop Dogg-featuring “Smoke Suffa” is the ultimate song for the heads and “ATM” is a strip club anthem. Signed to E-40‘s Sick Wid It Records, Nef The Pharaoh delivered his debut retail release, a self-titled EP, in November 2015 to high critical praise and commercial success for its single “Big Tymin’.” Nef followed his breakthrough project by joining producer Cardo for Neffy Got Wings, a collaborative EP which released in January.
