After basking in the spotlight during his month-long headlining tour in January, Chicago emcee Montana Of 300 introduces his FGE crew in a new HotNewHipHop exclusive video. Prior to his debut New York City performance at the Highline Ballroom in January, Montana and his team made their way through the HotNewHipHop offices where they wrote, recorded and filmed “Loaded,” a blistering six-verse freestyle over a titanic drill beat by Charisma 808. “Loaded” features torrid verses by crew members J-Real, No Fatigue, Talley Of 300, Don D, and $avage, anchored by a brand new verse from Montana himself.

Montana Of 300 is gearing up for the May 6th release of his Fire in the Church album, the follow-up to 2014’s break-through project Cursed With a Blessing. This past December 2nd, Montana Of 300 celebrated the one year anniversary of Cursed With a Blessing when he shared Gunz N Roses, a collaborative full-length with long-time compadre Talley Of 300. Montana Of 300 also frequently treats his fans to remixes of industry hits, which have combined for more than 100 Million YouTube views, most recently tackling “White Iverson”/”Milly Rock.”

While news of Montana Of 300’s studio session with Rick Rubin, Russell Simmons, and Kanye West circulated over the past Summer, with speculation of a bidding war reaching its peak, it appears for now that Montana Of 300 is determined to continue paving his own lane as an independent artist while developing an army of youthful talent to surround him. “I just like having control of myself,” Montana Of 300 told FACT Mag in an interview. “Being independent, I can be like, well, my son’s birthday is this day, so they have to find another date. Artists that are signed can’t do things like that. You have to go work [for other people] and make their money back. I just feel real free. I’m doing the same thing, if not more, than a lot of artists that are signed are doing and I don’t owe nobody shit. I’m my own boss. Who wouldn’t want to be their own boss?”
