The Song:

“I feel like I’m home when I’m in New York City,” raps Mikey Dollaz on the hook for “Biggie N Diddy.” In the video for the song, premiered today by Mass Appeal, Mikey Dollaz demonstrates just how true that line is by partying on Manhattan rooftops, stunting in the crowded city streets, and enjoying some authentic cuisine at Joe’s Shanghai in Chinatown. Produced by Anti-G of Planet Mu, the song finds Mikey Dollaz bringing his trademark hard-hitting high-energy flow over pinging synths and understated trap drums. “I wrote the song while on drugs in New York,” explains Mikey Dollaz, “and the first two people that came to mind were Biggie and Diddy, who did it big in New York.”

Last week, Mass Appeal premiered “Waddup/Who Betta,” a collaboration between Mikey Dollaz and popular producer SALVA. “Biggie N Diddy” and “Waddup/Who Betta” follow a cavalcade of quality Mikey Dollaz videos released in 2016. Earlier this month, HYPETRAK premiered the hedonistic video for “Forever Be Dat Guy” alongside a Q&A with Mikey Dollaz. Last month, The FADER premiered a video for “Hot Boy,” a beat-shifting party anthem produced by Obey City of Lucky Me. “Hot Boy” quickly followed the releases of videos for the Sonny Digital-produced “Good As It Gets,” premiered by HipHopDX, and “Flat Or Molly,” premiered by ACCLAIM Mag, as well as the video for the Strict Face-produced “Fuck Me Right,” which Dummy Mag called a “visual concoction that entwines itself to the aquatic and crystalline sounds of Strict Face’s production.”

Mikey Dollaz’s Picture Me Rollin mixtape, which debuted in February via FACT Mag, finds Mikey Dollaz teaming up with Planet Mu’s Silk Road Assassins, Dun Deal, and Honorable C.N.O.T.E., in addition to the aforementioned contributions from Sonny Digital, Obey City, and Strict Face, to create a fusion of Electronic and Drill. In their review of Picture Me Rollin’, HotNewHipHop said that the tape displays “Dollaz’ astonishing versatility, with everything from trappy ballads to trunk-rattling EDM-influenced bangers to straight up party anthems.” Born and raised on the West Side of Chicago, street drama derailed a promising basketball career for Mikey Dollaz.
