Acclaimed Chicago Rapper Lucki Shares Almost Woke, a New 2-Pack Featuring “No Joke” and “Lifestyle Brazy”
The 24-Year-Old Rapper Shares an Eye-Catching Video for Wavy Banger “LifestyleBrazy”
Critical Praise:
“Lucki Can Tell Nothing But His Truth…Lucki is shameless about his pain. Whether the 22-year-old Chicagoan—born Lucki Camel Jr.—is rapping about his bouts with depression and anxiety, his role in sabotaging his romantic relationships, or his prescription drug addiction, he refuses to hide his flaws. His candor about his life lows has made him a relatable antihero to a loyal cult following of fans who regularly take to social media with comments like, ‘Lucki changed my life’ or ‘Lucki gets me’ whenever he releases new music or opens up about his struggles publicly.” – Pitchfork
“Lucki has been applying the truths of this life to his music for the better part of a decade.” – Complex
“Lucki has been building his resume for years, crafting understated, infectious tracks that have shades of fellow Chicagoans like Chief Keef and Supa Bwe, but a swagger and sensibility that is all his own.” – Pigeons & Planes
“Lucki’s music can feel like you’re about to be submerged in a swamp or like you’re about to fall asleep behind the wheel of the Lamborghini from Suicide Squad“ – The FADER
‘On this blessed day, we also get Days B4 III, the new full-length from Lucki, the muttering young cult-rap icon whose self-destructive lyrics have the power to punch you in your soul.” – Stereogum
“Lucki is Chicago’s best conscious rapper” – Chicago Reader
The Music:
Chicago native Lucki is a master of immersion, drawing listeners into his world with his hypnotic flow and exquisite taste in instrumentals. Delivering a double dose of heat, Lucki shares Almost Woke, a new 2-pack single. The first single in the pack is “LifestyleBrazy,” an expansive and atmospheric banger that sends a message directed towards the haters and wannabes. Produced by Brent Rambo, “LifestyleBrazy” has an instrumental that combines the ethereal melodies of a JRPG soundtrack with rattling hi-hats and active 808s. Lucki delivers his rhymes in an entrancing sing-song, taunting those who couldn’t dream of reaching his level of luxury: “I don’t really think they hear you, gotta put your soul in it,” stresses the 24-year-old rapper.
“LifestyleBrazy” arrives along with a visual directed by Lonewolf, Lucki’s frequent collaborator on his music videos. Complete with eye-catching visual effects and disorienting camera movement, the video gives a fleeting glimpse into Lucki’s brazy lifestyle, complete with fast cars, bumpin’ apartment parties, and more. Lucki shows off his pandemic-appropriate attire, rocking a custom letterman jacket and several flashy face coverings.
The second single is “No Joke,” a stream-of-consciousness slapper that takes full advantage of Lucki’s expressive croak. Produced by Plu20 Nash and ADIO, “No Joke” is dominated by a percussive, percolating synth pattern that dovetails with crashing 808s as Lucki touts his serious skills: “Dawg, God put me here to make music,” asserts Lucki.
Cultivating an ever-growing following since he debuted in the rap game in 2013 at 17, Lucki has earned glowing praise from both critics and industry figures, including shoutouts from Pharrell and Justin Timberlake. He’s collaborated in the past with the likes of A$AP Rocky, Chance The Rapper, Playboi Carti and many others. The rapper formerly known as Lucki Eck$ feeds his fans with a consistent output of boundary-pushing music that plumbs the depths of his soul.
Lucki had a breakout year in 2019, during which Lucki collaborated with ChaseTheMoney and Earl Sweatshirt, released acclaimed projects Freewave 3 and Days B4 III, and earned praise from Pitchfork, who raved “Lucki’s music works so well in large part due to his ear for production, plodding hi-hats that make it feel like your brain is stuck in quicksand, and his eerie, doomsday melodies.” 2020 was another banner year for the young artist, featuring the release of his 12-track project Almost There, home to the fan favorite single “Faith.” Most recently, Lucki teamed up with Lil Yachty for “Greed,” a flute-laden trap track that racked up over 3 million combined plays on YouTube and Spotify.
Hard at work on his next project, the proudly independent artist looks to take the next step in 2021. Stay tuned for much more Lucki in the weeks and months to come.

Empire Background:
EMPIRE was founded in 2010 as an artist-friendly, progressive digital distribution company. After early success, and identifying future icons such as Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, and Rich Homie Quan, EMPIRE was quickly regarded as a tastemaker in the industry and throughout the past five years evolved into a full-fledged record label, distributor and publisher for independent musicians. With the company and roster growing at a breakneck pace, EMPIRE has effectively disrupted a stale business model by bringing its energy, expertise, and acumen to its artists and labels. Today, EMPIRE works with some of music’s hottest talent, ranging from superstars such as T.I. and Snoop Dogg, red-hot newcomers such as SOB X RBE and Mozzy, and established veterans like Jim Jones and Redman. While remaining 100% independent, EMPIRE has also partnered with Atlantic Records for a joint venture, home to breakout star D.R.A.M. and propelled singles by Fat Joe & Remy Ma (“All The Way Up,” 2x Platinum), Tyga (“Taste,” 3x Platinum), and Lil Duval (“Smile”) to the top of the Billboard Hip-Hop Charts. In April 2018, EMPIRE signed a global distribution deal with Universal Music Group for select artist projects.
