Energetic Newcomer Lil Wop Announces the Wake-N-Bake Mixtape, Arriving 4/20

A devotee of Gucci Mane with a unique, zonked-out style to call his own, Lil Wop is a rising star in Atlanta’s new school. In celebration of his favorite holiday, Wop announces the Wake-N-Bake mixtape, a short collection of smoker’s anthems arriving on 4/20. Hosted by DJ Holiday, the mixtape is a concise synthesis of Lil Wop’s appeal, with his wavering, croaking vocals and absurd ad-libs painting the edges of the candy-colored trap beats. Featuring appearances from Famous Dex, Malachie Warren, Duwap Kaine, Cocaine P, and CubanDoll, with production from Zaytoven and frequent collaborator Samba Beatz, Wake-N-Bake is the ideal soundtrack to a morning smoke session and a solid introduction to the wild world of Wop.
To prepare his fans for the upcoming tape, the ATL resident and recent father teams up with fellow Chicago-born, Southern-sounding emcee Famous Dex (who also happens to be Wop’s cousin) for “Gotcho Bit#h,” the latest single from the project. Wop and Dexter exchange bars, brag about their ends, and ad-lib their asses off, ending the track with an infectious roll-call of their signature exhortations. Produced with a signature organ-driven swing by Gucci favorite Zaytoven and PoloBoyShawty, “Gotcha Bit#h” follows Lil Wop’s buzzing single “Bombay,” which has garnered 68,000 SoundCloud plays since its release at the end of March. Premiered by XXL, “Gotcho Bit#h” is an ideal track for blazin’ up in the bando.
