Video: Lil GotIt – “Drip On”
The ATL Upstart Flashes Outlandish Ad-Libs in This Woozy Trap Slapper, as He Reveals the Secret Behind His Supernatural Drip
Critical Praise:
Lil Gotit is the heir to Atlanta’s rap throne” – The FADER
“Fresh off the release of his latest project, Crazy But It’s True, in March, ‘Lil Ralph’ is another step toward Lil Gotit having the sort of 2019 come-up that Lil Baby and Gunna had last year.” – Complex
“Like a fairy tale set in Atlanta’s Lenox Mall” – Pitchfork
The Video:
Lil GotIt might be one of Atlanta’s most promising trapsters, but he’s also just a 20-year-old kid who loves nothing more than throwing down at his house with some homies. In the new video for “Drip On,”directed by Lil GotIt himself, the young artist soundtracks a day in the life with his new woozy banger. Starting with a brief transmission from an alternate dimension where GotIt isn’t fresh as hell, the video shows the Alamo Records signee in his element, picking out his outfit in his walk-in closet, counting cash, and toting a choppa that has “bass like a trombone.” “Drip On” is the latest in a line of excellent videos, following the clip for the Lil Keed co-starring “Pop My Shit” (Remix), the Jetson Made-produced “Oh Ok,” and the animated video for “Da Real HoodBabies (Remix),” featuring Lil Baby, which gave new life to a highlight from GotIt’s recent mixtape Crazy But It’s True.
The “Drip On” video as GotIt continues performing on the “Keed Talk To ‘Em Tour.” Supporting Lil Keed, a 300 Ent. signee, a YSL affiliate, and GotIt’s biological older brother, the 15-date tour passes through Los Angeles on September 13th (The Novo) before ending in Boston on September 22nd. Born just one year apart, to the same mother and father, the two brothers are close collaborators with infectious chemistry–a chemistry that visibly comes across in music videos and onstage.
Praised by The FADER as “the heir to Atlanta’s rap throne,” the just-turned-20-year-old GotIt cut a blazing path through Atlanta’s trap scene. Since the release of his debut project Hood Baby in 2018, GotIt has dropped records with Gunna and Lil Uzi Vert. In March 2019, GotIt dropped Crazy But It’s True, which featured appearances from Lil Durk, Gunna, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Lil Keed, and many others. Stay tuned for more releases this summer, including an upcoming project produced in full by London On Da Track.
