Video: Lil Gotit – “Wok”
The On-Fire ATLien Shares a Woozy Trap Banger, His First New Song of 2021
Critical Praise:
“Lil Gotit is the heir to Atlanta’s rap throne” – The FADER
“Fresh off the release of his latest project, Crazy But It’s True, in March, ‘Lil Ralph’ is another step toward Lil Gotit having the sort of 2019 come-up that Lil Baby and Gunna had last year.” – Complex
“Like a fairy tale set in Atlanta’s Lenox Mall” – Pitchfork
The Video:
Forever finding innovative ways to warp his vocal delivery, Lil Gotit is on a rapid ascent to the top of the ATL scene. Preparing to take the next step, Gotit shares “Wok,” his first song of 2021. Sliding through seasick synths and speaker-knocking snares, Gotit flashes his colorful wordplay on the new track, sending a clear message that frauds can’t shine like him and opps can’t step to him: “Outside runnin’ hundreds for me it’s a race/Drip on the date, no I cannot be late,” spits Gotit. In the video, directed by Never Panic, Gotit and a homie hit a lick at a convenience store, before taking the spoils to a safehouse and torching the evidence. The video for “Wok” premieres on YouTube at 6pm ET.
Since the release of last April’s Hood Baby 2, Gotit has been biding his time, cooking up heat for his fans to enjoy. The sequel to Gotit’s 2018 debut mixtape, which announced the then-19-year-old rapper as a player to watch in his hometown scene, Hood Baby 2 demonstrates the rapper’s artistic evolution–his flows hit harder, his ad-libs are wilder, and his money is longer. The project is home to “Drip Day N Night“ ft. Gunna and Gotit’s brother Lil Keed and “Yeah Yeah,” featuring Keed and Future. The 21-year-old artist reconnected with Future for “What It Was,” and closed out the year with creative video singles like “Tellin Ya” and “Dead Walkin.“
With over 228 million streams in the bank, including nearly 50 million on Hood Baby 2 alone, Gotit has steadily won the respect of the biggest names in the trap scene since his 2018 debut. Stay tuned in the coming weeks as Gotit proceeds with his coronation into the ranks of his city’s elite.
