7.29.2019
Critical Praise:
“Vocally, Lil Durk is the current scene’s melodic forebear.” – Pitchfork

“The rose that blossomed from the concrete of Chi-Town’s drill music scene” – Billboard
The Video:
With an influential melodic style that defines the current sound of The Chi, Lil Durk is ready to affirm his rightful place among rap’s royalty. Traveling to the future and rocking a sleek silver wardrobe, Durk shines brightly in “Green Light,” his latest video. Filmed in Atlanta and directed by Cole Bennett, “Green Light” proves that Durk’s boss status transcends space and time, as the 26-year-old rapper exerts a near-psychic control over his drones, who do his dirty work while his hands stay clean. Forgoing the melodic auto-tune that characterizes much of Durk’s recent work, “Green Light” is a hard-hitting drill anthem, radiating with the rawness of the rapper’s breakout mixtapes. The video racked up over 1.3 million views since its release on Saturday. “Green Light” is the latest single from Love Songs 4 The Streets II, Durk’s upcoming album, dropping August 2nd via Alamo Records/Interscope.
The proper follow-up to November’s Signed To The Streets 3, Love Songs 4 The Streets 2 stresses the duality of Durk, presenting the face he shows at home with his fiancé India with smooth and emotionally intelligent romantic jams and projecting his street strength on intense anthems. Last week, Durk collaborated with Meek Mill for “Bougie,” a hook-filled banger that blends Durk’s soaring melodies with Meek’s breathless intensity. “Bougie” currently enjoys prominent placement on Spotify’s Most Necessary and Off The Strength playlists, where it sits alongside “Like That,” the album’s King Von-featuring first single. Last week, Durk appeared on “Slide Around,” a standout track from Chance The Rapper’s The Big Day album.

About Only The Family (OTF):
With a young and hungry roster of Chicago-born emcees, Lil Durk’s OTF label signees have made their intentions clear–they’re coming to take over the game. Most notable among the OTF roster is King Von, whose breakout hit “Crazy Story” earned more than 35 million views on YouTube and 14 million combined plays on Apple and Spotify. King Von is currently preparing his debut mixtape. Returning to the scene with his Dirty-Glove Bastard-premiered single “War Scars,” melodic mastermind Booka600released his mixtape Word To LA in June. The OTF crew showcased their talents in two label mixtapes released last year, Lil Durk Presents: Only The Family Involved Vol. 1, released last summer, and its sequel, released just before the New Year.
