The Album:

Eclectic, feel-good California rapper KYLE aka SuperDuperKyle, is releasing his SMYLE album today, with guest features ranging from Chance the Rapper, Yuna, and more. Earlier this week, Kyle released his Chance the Rapper-assisted, heartfelt track about his father “Remember Me” by texting a private link to fans. “Kyle’s music brims with the kind of enormous emotion that makes your heart bigger, and better, for hearing it,” Stereogum said in their post of the audio, while HotNewHipHop said “…Sorta sounds like that great Tupac song ‘Run Tha Streetz,’ except substituting Kyle’s breezier flow (which actually resembles that of Chance) for Tupac’s hardened delivery.”

“For this album, I wanted to capture a sound that was bright and fast and uptempo, something that could dive right into the heart of anyone who was having a bad day and pick them back up,” KYLE explains. “The meaning behind SMYLE is basically reminding people that life isn’t that bad as it can sometimes seem. With this album, I wanted to peel back more and more layers and be more connected with people and tell more relatable stories. That’s how you relate deeper, by further exposing your dreams, fears, and experiences.”
