After Playing a Rap Star on TV, KaMillion is Working Her Way to the Top of the Real Life Rap Game

The Jacksonville Native is Ascending on the Back of Her Top 50 Urban Radio Hit “In Here“

An Acclaimed Actress, a Grammy-Winning Songwriter, and Love & Hip-Hop Reality Star, KaMillion Continues to Pile Up Accolades and Win New Fans With Her Undeniable Talent and Engaging Personality

The Rundown:

Rising from the streets of Jacksonville to achieve her own kind of rap stardom, KaMillion knows how to turn drama into opportunity. She lives her life according to a characteristically snappy, and aspirational, maxim: “turn your pain into paper.” KaMillion’s motto served her well once again when she turned what could have been a messy affair into the subject of “In Here,” her latest viral hit.

Inspired by “She In Here,” a Southern rap classic by No Limit affiliate and Baton Rouge hero Bigdawg C-Loc, “In Here” is an anthem for anyone who has been two-timed, as KaMillion confidently asserts her worth in the face of a cheating partner who didn’t deserve her anyway. Running roughshod over a sample of a capella R&B classic “If I Ever Fall In Love” by Shai, KaMillion lets her personality shine on “In Here,” using her forceful personality to turn each line into a hook: “She don’t rock wit everybody so if she really down wit ya/You don’t gotta second guess her she be really bout her business,” she spits in a locked-in cadence. The song came to life after a real life incident where KaMillion found her man cheating on her with another woman, who was married to another man. Kam called up the other man–who happened to be a recording engineer–to let him know, and she and the wronged man leapt straight into the studio to lay down what became “In Here.”

Arriving with a dramatic visualizer, in which Kam catches her man in flagrante and enlists a team of boss ladies to take appropriate revenge, “In Here” quickly gained traction on socials, with over 10k creations on TikTok alone and more than 10 million organic views. Boosting the momentum along with her own “In Here” memes, KaMillion parlayed the song’s social virality into IRL success, generating over 2 million streams and earning airplay across the nation. This month, “In Here” reached the Top 50 of the Urban Radio chart, rising in the past week from #49 to #47.

KaMillion’s new hit is the latest milestone in her remarkable career, which, in addition to her career as a recording artist, spans TV, film, reality television, and songwriting. The multi-faceted talent has credits on dozens of radio hits, including songs by Rihanna, Trey Songz, and Keke Palmer, and won a Grammy for her contribution to “Rather Be,” by H.E.R. After starring for years as a personality on Love & Hip-Hop Miami, KaMillion stormed into the cultural consciousness with her star-making role in Rap Shit, the HBO series written-and-produced by Issa Rae. As Mia, a single mother determined to succeed in the rap game to support her 4-year-old daughter, KaMillion was a compelling and relatable protagonist. She made the audience feel her hunger, putting every ounce of herself into the role for maximum pathos at times and side-splitting hilarity at others.

Like Mia, KaMillion has an unshakeable will to succeed, and the determination to get what she deserves. With “In Here” still rising, and a new EP on the way, Kam is ready to make her fans proud and her doubters look silly as she ascends to a new career peak. We at Audible Treats are honored to work with KaMillion as she embarks upon her latest artistic journey. Stay tuned.
