Florida rapper Jackboy is endlessly inventive, creating unique approaches to suit every instrumental he encounters. Putting his own spin on one of the decade’s biggest hit songs, Jackboy shares “Hello Freestyle,” his new single. Rhyming and singing atop the melodramatic string swells and piano of Adele‘s hit single of the same name, Jackboy provides emotional lyrics to fit the grand backdrop, pouring out his heart with double-tracked vocals: “I love the streets, even though they can’t love me back.” An audacious and ambitious track by the Pompano Beach native, “Hello Freestyle” is Jackboy’s first new single since the release of Lost In My Head, Jackboy’s recent mixtape.

Spanning 15 tracks, Lost In My Head takes listeners deep into Jackboy’s turbulent life in Broward County, ping-ponging from heartfelt missives like “Jail Talk,” to aggressive hitters’ anthems like “In the Uber with the Ruger, to mission statement “Not A Clone,” which racked up over 4 million views on its video. Most recently, the tape spawned videos for “No Cap” and the Jetson Made-produced “Bipolar” (1.4 million views).
