A tireless worker with a bottomless arsenal of flows, Jackboy did more than enough to earn his moment in the sun. Continuing his productive quarantine with a glamorous new video, Jackboy shares “1K.” Produced by TnTXD, “1K” is a monument to self-reliance, as Jackboy shrugs off a series of betrayals with a rubbery flow and takes pride in his self-made status: “No father figure, naw bitch I’m from the projects/Role model went to jail for whipping that pyrex.” In the video, Jackboy holes up in a hillside mansion with two models, dancing on the deck and basking in the golden hour sunlight. “1K” is the latest in a long line of videos from JACKBOY, the rapper’s new project, following the recent clips for “Pack A Punch” (928k views) and “Won’t Understand” (1.9 million views).

Marked by production from Tay Keith, Kid Hazel, Go Grizzly, TNTxD, and many others, JACKBOY reflects the artist’s wide-ranging tastes (he listens to Adele and Ed Sheeran more than he listens to any rapper), with instrumentals that range from the minimalist percussion-driven “Zombie World” to the East Asian tinge of “Freedom Of Speech“ to the hyperactive synth of “Hate The B!tch.” The new project showcases the 23-year-old rapper’s versatile vocals, which oscillate between rapidfire cadences and pained operatics at a moments notice. Jackboy Background

In three years of rapping, 22-year-old Jackboy has already achieved nearly 100 million YouTube views, 30 million at Soundcloud, and eight figure-streaming at Spotify. Born in Haiti and raised in Pompano Beach, Florida, the rapper beams with captivating personality and charisma. He emphasizes the important words, both in conversation and melodic rapping. Although spirited and youthful, the artist heard on “G To The A,” “Grimace,” and “Not A Clone,” appears wise beyond his years. Best friends with Kodak Black for over a decade, the Sniper Gang/EMPIRE artist released two albums, JackNDaBox and Lost In My Head, in 2019. Jackboy has plenty to say.
