HipHopDX Premieres Visual from SID (Shining In Darkness) Album, Now Available on iTunes

Critical Praise for J Stalin:

“As the owner of Livewire Records, West Oakland rapper J Stalin provides a place for the growth of incredibly creative, meat-and-potatoes Bay Area hip-hop. The label hosts gritty rubbery street music that navigates crack dealing devastation and grounded partying tracks with equal aplomb, with artists that range from Stalin himself to MCs like Shady Nate and Philthy Rich among others.”SPIN

Shining In Darkness is easily considered one of J Stalin’s most cultivating yet.” – XXL

The Video:

Fresh off the SPIN premiere of his SID (Shining In Darkness) album, J Stalin releases new visuals for “G.I. Joe.” Debuted by HipHopDX, the video features J Stalin and his Livewire Records crew in an Audi and Porsche-filled parking lot, covered in darkness from the Oakland night sky and a film of thick, white smoke. Highlighting the signature mob music sound the Bay Area is known for, J Stalin raps into an overhead camera, “Since 16, I done had this cheddar fetish/It was something inside me that told me go get it.”

Stalin’s track record supports that claim. SID is his 14th studio album, adding to his collection of 14 mixtapes he’s released over the past 8 years. His entrepreneurial prowess is unmatched by many artists his age. You can find his career tips featured in his list on HipHopDXThe album contains an impressive lineup of features with fellow Bay Area rappers Too $hortE-40Joey FattsShady NateIamsu!, and more. In their review of the album, XXL says “Shining In Darkness is easily considered one of J. Stalin’s most cultivating yet.” The album is available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon.
