Video: Icewear Vezzo – “Class Of 2024

The Detroit Rhymer Goes Back to School in the Energetic Video For the Soulful Highlight from His New Album Live From The 6

Critical Praise:

“His latest project basks in the idea that an album this regionally specific can still have nationwide appeal.” – Pitchfork

“The King of contemporary Detroit rap”HYPEBEAST

“As a Detroit hip-hop veteran, Icewear Vezzo has earned his position in the city’s hierarchy. With his first mixtape, The Clarity, dropping in 2013, and turning into a series, along with his presence in Detroit, the groundwork he’s put in over time is respected.” – XXL

“I don’t think a day will go by moving forward where he isn’t one of the main points in every conversation about rap all over the world.” – Lyrical Lemonade

The Video:

Icewear Vezzo explores how the circumstances of his birth forced him to learn how to become an expert hustler on his new album Live From The 6. The album kicks off with the triumphant banger, “Class Of 2024,” which recently received a new music video. Produced by Vezzo’s frequent collaborator Beats By Taz, is an ice cold speaker-knocker that is a perfect fit for the rhymer’s raspy flow. The 6 Mile native weaves between active 808s, smooth electric keys, and cascading synths to flex on how far he’s come: “Ion give a f*ck what you lames think/I ain’t gotta talk, let my chain speak,” he intones. In the video, directed by Diego and Vezzo himself, the Iced Up Records CEO takes a trip to a local high school, as he poses for yearbook photos and causes chaos in a classroom.

“Class of 2024” is one of many highlights from Live From The 6, Vezzo’s highly-anticipated new album. Live From The 6 is a down-and-dirty collection of sinister street stories, alternating raw hustler’s anthems that elucidate the mindset required to escape rough circumstances with thoughtful reflections on the toll life on the streets take on those who make it out. The album features appearances from DaBaby (on recent single “Perfect“) and YTB Fatt (on street hit “Come Outside“), and rolls out the red carpet for Vezzo’s fellow 6 Mile natives: Detroit star Babyface Ray, and Iced Up Records signee Chuckie CEO. The culmination of Vezzo’s evolution from street-level hustler to a global ambassador for Detroit rap, Live From The 6 is available everywhere via Iced Up Records/Quality Control Music.

With limitless ambition and the work ethic to achieve his every desire, it’s only a matter of time before Icewear Vezzo takes over the game.
