Hurricane Wisdom is winning hearts and minds across the rap game with his sharp songwriting and infectious melodies. After scoring several hits and amassing over 1 billion streams across his catalog, the young North Florida artist prepares for his next chapter, officially announcing Weathering The World, his upcoming album via a stylish new album trailer on Instagram. The highly-anticipated follow-up to 2025’s Billboard 200-charting Perfect Storm and Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The Rain, on Friday, August 7th via Rebel/gamma.
The upcoming album is home to several buzzing singles that Hurricane has released in the first half of the year, led by “Barbie Doll,” his first-ever collaboration with Grammy-winning artist Chance The Rapper. The song is a perfect merger of their two melodic sensibilities, which has the song heading towards Top 20 at Urban Radio on the back of over 15M global streams since its May release. Hurricane welcomes another high profile feature to the tracklisting on “YK Where It’s Goin,” enlisting Atlanta crooner Gunna for a hard-hitting record that is made for end-of-summer rotation.
Earlier in the year, the North Florida native expanded into the world of Afrobeats with “LIVING UP,” recorded on a trip to Lagos, Nigeria, and recently performed the track on tastemaker performance platform COLORS. Additional album highlights include “Over Now” (5.9 million views), “Dangerous” (3.7 million views), and “Enough (2.4 million views). This album arrives as Hurricane continues to put the game on notice, cemented by recently being honored as a member of the 2026 XXL Freshman Class. The Background:
Hurricane Wisdom had an outstanding 2025, during which he established himself as one of rap music’s most-exciting rising stars. After elevating in Summer 2024 with “Giannis” (over 60 million streams across platforms), named one of the best songs of that year by Pitchfork, Hurricane boosted his profile with two high-quality projects in 2025. In February, Hurricane dropped Perfect Storm. Home to “Giannis” (Remix) ft. Polo G, and additional hits like “Drugs Callin” and “On God” ft. Raq Baby, Perfect Storm charted on the Billboard 200 for three weeks (#126 peak).
Later in the year, Hurricane kept his streak going with Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The Rain. More than a deluxe, Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The Rain brings 17 original songs, not yet collected on any project, landing multiple weeks on the Billboard 200 with a peak of #54, debuting in the Top Ten of Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart and at #16 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The success of Sorry 4 The Rain was driven by a high-wattage remix to Hurricane’s viral hit “Drugs Callin,” featuring Lil Baby. Updating Future’s classic “Perkys Callin'” for a new era, “Drugs Callin” racked up over 50 million streams across platforms, while the remix music video reached #1 on YouTube’s Trending Chart. Complex placed “Drugs Callin” (Remix) at #36on their list of 2025’s 50 Best Songs, and at #23 on their list of 2025’s 30 Best Rap Songs. At the end of the year, Audiomack revealed that “Drugs Callin'” was the most-streamed rap song on the platform in 2025, with Hurricane’s “Need Me” following suit at #4.
When Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The Rain made landfall, Hurricane Wisdom’s hotness became undeniable. He performed “Rich Dropout” as his Lyrical Lemonade’s Lunch Break Freestyle(2.1 million views), and made a standout appearance during On The Radar’s 2nd All-Star Cypher. The young rapper recently wrapped his “Perfect Storm: No Umbrellas Tour,” a headlining tour featuring several sold out dates.
