Single: Hoodrich Pablo Juan – “Screaming Slatt” ft. Young Thug
The 1017 Eskimo Standout Brings Back Slime Season With the New Single From the Upcoming BLO Project
2.21.2019
Critical Praise:
“Nine out of ten rap fans seem to agree: Hoodrich Pablo Juan is up next.” – Complex
“HoodRich Pablo Juan should be Atlanta’s next up.” – Stereogum
“A smooth-talking rapper with a nonchalant charm.” – Pitchfork
The Song:
Supernaturally zen when it comes to trapping, Hoodrich Pablo Juan hypnotizes with his soft-spoken, hard-hitting style. Recruiting one of rap’s most manic mic presences, Pablo recruits Young Thug for “Screaming Slatt,” his new single. Weaving his basso profundo flow within a hyperactive and trebly instrumental, Pablo and Thug profess loyalty to their day ones, as they exchange extravagant boasts in their inimitable styles: “A million diamonds and all of them mine,” spits Pablo in his verse. Premiered by Complex, “Screaming Slatt” showcases the yin-yang chemistry between the two Atlanta rappers, with Pablo’s blunt force charisma anchoring Thug’s yawping flights of fancy.
“Screaming Slatt” is the latest single from BLO, Hoodrich Pablo Juan’s upcoming project, following the sinister “Fireworks” (2 million YouTube views) and “Dolce Gabbana,” his collaboration with 1017 Eskimo labelmates Yung Mal & Lil Quill. BLO arrives this Spring via 1017 Eskimo/Alamo.
2018 was a busy year for Hoodrich Pablo Juan, marked by three projects, dozens of high profile collaborations, and millions of streams. Last January, Pablo released Rich Hood, which featured appearances from Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, Gunna, Key Glock and others. He quickly followed Rich Hood up with The Matrix, released in February, an EP-length collaboration with popular French electronic DJ Brodinski. A quick dose of aggro-trap brilliance, Stereogum praised the EP, calling it “a fascinating combination, with Hoodrich Pablo Juan’s liquid flow wending its way intuitively through Brodinski’s gleaming synths.” Pablo culminated his year with the release of Hoodwolf 2, an absorbing collection of head-nodding trap and a full-length collaboration between Hoodrich Pablo Juan and Danny Wolf, known for producing Lil Pump‘s “Flex Like Ouu,” Ugly God’s Billboard Hot 100-charting “Water,” and others. Featuring appearances from Rich The Kid, Lil Skies, and Lil Duke, Hoodwolf 2 perfected Pablo’s menacing persona, boasting the underground hit “Tik Tok,” featuring a boisterous appearance from BlocBoy JB and earning over 3.7 million streams on Spotify. With the upcoming BLO and much more yet to come, Pablo looks to make 2019 his biggest year yet.
