Rhyming in lockstep cadences with his piercing and authoritative bark, G59 rapper Germ specializes in high-octane trap tracks. Letting his chaotic creativity run wild, Germ shares The Hijinx Tape, his new album. The follow-up to last year’s debut Germ Has A Death Wish, The Hijinx Tape is a 12-song set of rap mayhem, complete with the aggressive beats, rapidfire flows, and merciless bars that Germ’s fans have come to expect. The album is an outrageously confident catalog of Germ’s favorite things, as he rhymes about his ounces of Cookies weed, his garage full of Dodge SRT Hellcats, and having more jewels than your local Zales.

The Hijinx Tape is home to recently released singles like “Walked In” (115k streams on Spotify alone) and last week’s vicious “7 Hunna Horses,” which arrived with a kinetic animé visualizer. Expanding on the themes of his debut, The Hijinx Tape brims with the self-assurance of a self-made man who knows that he has much further to rise. Featuring an appearance from G59’s Shakewell and production from Budd Dwyer (aka Scrim from G59 head honchos $uicideboy$) and more, The Hijinx Tape releases via G59 Records.

To accompany the album, Germ heads to the beach for “Cookies,” his brand new music video. Produced by Grove$ide, “Cookies” is a flute-laden banger with distorted 808s and neck-snapping hi-hats. Delivering his bars in crisp cadences, Germ relays his intentions to do exactly what he wants all the time–heaven help you if you get in his way. In the video, Germ heads to the shoreline with his posse, including some G59 cohorts like $uicideboy$, as he sparks up blunts and shows off his cars (a souped-up Mercedes, and of course, a Dodge SRT Hellcat).

The Background:

Atlanta-native and G59 signee Germ dropped his debut album and first project with the label (helmed by his co-conspirators $uicideboy$) titled Germ Has A Deathwish in 2019. The 11-track LP proves to be his breakout; a versatile and progressive body of work showcasing the elevation of his rap career, from his early upbringing and Haitian roots to his days cutting his teeth as a skater on the streets of ATL. Germ recently supported $uicideboy$ on Grey Day Tour and proved he could infuse energy into crowds numbering into the thousands. Germ’s sophomore album The Hinjinx Tape is slated for a July 31st release date.
