As always, the Festival shines a spotlight on the province of Québec’s most talented musicians, including composer/pianist Alexandra Stréliski, Polaris Prize-winning Montreal rock band Karkwa, and the soulful Quebecois group Clay and Friends, and brings diverse acts from across the globe, including red hot regional Mexican singer Ivan Cornejo, Malian performer Vieux Farka Touré, and Nigerien guitarist Bombino,

The summer festival makes use of The Plains of Abraham, one of the most notable historical sites in Canada, where, in 1759, the British and French fought a decisive battle in the Seven Years’ War. Now, hundreds of years later, the Plains of Abraham is the location of the FEQ’s main stage, with a capacity of over 80,000. This year’s festival debuts a thrilling new stage setup, allowing fans to experience their favorite music like never before. The upcoming FEQ 2024 festival follows a massively successful 2023 edition, which inspired Pollstar to assert FEQ’s place in “the conversation as a top five festival in North America,” and featured headlining performances from Foo Fighters, Green Day, Lana Del Ray, Weezer, Zach Bryan, and many more.

With its multi-day, multi-venue structure and the full-fledged involvement of the surrounding city, FEQ is the closest North American analog to European city festivals like the UK’s Wireless Festival, Spain’s Primavera Sound, or Denmark’s Roskilde. Located on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, Quebec City is the closest thing to a European city within driving distance, and fans who don’t feel like road tripping can take one of 21 direct flights to the YQB airport.

Stay tuned for more information about the Northeast’s biggest and most unique music festival, including information about the new stage setup, very soon.
