The Video:

Thoughhis scraggly hairdo and fun-loving attitude might scream “slacker,” Connecticut’s Felly takes his hustle very seriously. A breezy jam with liquid keys and rattling hi-hats, Bag Season” shows off Felly’s facility with melody, clever rhymes, and easy charisma. Anchored by a velvety hook from rap-n-b riser Trip Carter, “Bag Season” is the ideal soundtrack to summer parties. In the video, premiered today by Highsnobiety, Trip Carter rouses Felly from his slumber by emptying a large sack of cash, until the duo emerges into a backyard soiree, featuring beer, booze, and a large number of scantily-clad ladies. “Bag Season” is the first video from Wild Strawberries, Felly’s upcoming album, and his second video in the past month after Blue Velour,” the live-in-studio jam cut that demonstrates Felly’s considerable musicality.

With over 52 million SoundCloud plays and over 63k YouTube subscribers, Felly cultivated a massive grassroots fanbase that he expanded online. He recently returned from the three-day-exclusive “Wild Strawberries Prelude,” during which he headlined shows in New Haven, Asbury Park, and Boston, which built upon his national headlining tour in 2016.  Last year, Felly released the Young Fel EP, which earned nearly 7 million streams on SoundCloud since its release last July. Featuring an appearance from frequent collaborator Gyyps, the EP produced the breakout hit Desert Eagle,” which earned more than 4.2 million streams on its own. Featuring appearances from Konshens, Gyyps, and Trip Carter, with production from Dre MoonDot Da GeniusYoG$, and more, Wild Strawberries is Felly’s first full-length album. Managed by Cinematic Music Group, look for Felly to make major waves when Wild Strawberries arrives on August 18th.

The Background:

Born and raised in Trumbull, Connecticut, Christian Felner aka Felly grew up immersed in hip-hop music. Using passion as his guide, Felly taught himself how to make beats on a laptop in his parent’s basement. The aspiring rapper began to make a name for himself as a producer by selling said beats on YouTube. After relocating to Los Angeles, the rapper released two solo projects Waking Up to Sirens and Milk and Sugar. The projects featured Dreamville signee Ari Lennox and frequent collaborator, GYYPS. As his music caught more attention, Felly began working with more talented producers resulting in the release of his mixtape This Shit Comes in Waves. The mixtape’s success resulted in a 31+ city headlining tour and a SXSW appearance. Recently, Felly has relocated to New York City, where he has been gearing up for the release of his next album Wild Strawberries due out later summer 2017.
