The Announcement:
February 3, 2025 (Miami, FL) – Bob Marley: One Love – Music Inspired By The Film (Deluxe), featuring Farruko’s single “Rasta Reggae (Jamming),” won the award for “Best Reggae Album” at the 2025 GRAMMY Awards last night. Farruko’s single, “Rasta Reggae (Jamming),” which sampled Bob Marley’s 1977 classic “Jamming,” was a focus single from the compilation album, released by Island Records and Tuff Gong in association with the Paramount Pictures film, One Love. Co-written by Carbon Fiber Music co-founder Franklin Martinez and co-produced by Carbon Fiber producer Ghetto, “Rasta Reggae (Jamming)” earned coverage in Billboard, The Wrap, Remezcla, and more. Farruko previously earned a GRAMMY nomination for “Best Música Urbana Album” in 2023 for his 2021 album La 167.
“I am truly honored to have contributed to a GRAMMY Award-winning album,” says Farruko. “Thank God for all of his blessings! Much respect to Island Records and the Marley Family for trusting me to honor the legacy of Bob Marley, one of my musical heroes.”
Farruko’s GRAMMY recognition puts a triumphant exclamation point on his eventful 2024. In October, the artist released the 26-track CVRBON VRMOR, the culmination of a powerful saga that marks a milestone in his artistic and spiritual journey. CVRBON VRMOR arrives at a crucial moment for Farruko, solidifying his new artistic direction, focusing on reflection, faith, and positive messages. The album’s hit single “CABLES CRUZADOS” reached #5 on the Billboard Latin Pop Airplay chart and #45 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart. CVRBON VRMOR has racked up over 178.5 million streams on Spotify, 50 million streams on Apple Music, and 11.1 million views on YouTube.
“This project represents the culmination of an internal battle I’ve been fighting daily,” Farruko shares. “Each song is a testament to my struggle against darkness, a reflection of my search for light and redemption. CVRBON VRMOR is more than music; it’s my spiritual armor.”
In December, Farruko performed songs from CVRBON VRMOR live for the first time at his historic headlining performance at el Coliseo de Puerto Rico. The sold out show coincided with the legendary venue’s anniversary, celebrating 20 years of el Coliseo, known to fans as el Choli, one of the most important live venues in North America. The performance featured 57 songs from Farru’s unbeatable catalog, including “PEPAS,” “Calma,” “Delincuente,” “Fantasias (Remix),” “Krippy Kush,” “La Tóxica,” and many more, and special guest spots from De La Ghetto, Pedro Capo, Ñengo Flow, Darell, among others. This past weekend, Farruko performed a thrilling concert in Colombia.
Stay tuned for much more from Farruko in 2025, as he continues his search for meaning through music.

About Bob Marley: One Love – Music Inspired By The Film (Deluxe):
The number one movie in America is Bob Marley: One Love, and to celebrate, Island Records and Tuff Gong released Bob Marley: One Love (Music Inspired by the Film), a brand new album of covers of Bob Marley hits by contemporary artists. Working closely with the Marley estate, the album features Kacey Musgraves’ “Three Little Birds,” Leon Bridges’ take on “Redemption Song,” and further covers by Skip and Mystic Marley, two of Bob’s grandchildren. The release also features NAACP Image Award-winning Jamaican singer Shenseea and Farruko.
The Marley family had a hand in choosing and approving all selections for this release. This underscores the strong, enduring six-decade relationship with Island Records, the Marley family, and Jamaica, elements which are reflected in the movie as well.
