Atlanta rap prodigy Domani is uncommonly perceptive for a 16 year-old, channeling his innermost thoughts and feelings into wavy, reflective gems that showcase his impressive talent. Tracking his development from an impressionable toddler in the hood to his current status as a wise-beyond-his-years teenager, Domani’s new “Playalistic Music“ video explores the role environment and surroundings play in the minds and lives of young people. The visual adds an additional heft to the lush song, with Domani flashing a creaky southern drawl over bass-heavy, brass-inflected production. Debuted by VIBE, “Playalistic Music” is from Domani’s recently-released debut mixtape, The Constellation.

“The message that I wanted to get across in this video, is that you have to always realized that somewhere out there, there’s a little kid, or somebody else that looks up to you, that wants to be just like you,” Domani explained to VIBE. “Therefore you have a responsibility to lead the way for this person. Whether you wanted this responsibility or not, and in this case (in the video) the most influential people around this child (played by me) took that responsibility for granted. They lead him in the wrong direction which lead to the kid losing his life for their actions. You’re not the product of your circumstances, you are the product of your decisions.”

In their February premiere of Domani’s “Paris“ single, The FADER praised that “Domani Harris will be on your radar in a big way this year,” while PAPER Magazine hailed him as Atlanta’s Next Big Thing. Domani’s Constellation project established him as a rapper to watch as he grows into a fully-formed artist and human being.
