Bandmanrill and.DJ Sliink are major figures in the Jersey music scene, leading the wave of club rap fusion that is taking over the East Coast. Reuniting for an uptempo banger, the Newark duo shares “Real Hips II,” their new single. The sequel to Bandman’s 2022 collaboration “Real Hips,” acclaimed by Pitchfork and The FADER and appearing on his album Club Godfather, “Real Hips II” expands upon the original, adding live percussion and synth strings to the insistent beat. Bandmanrill slices through Sliink’s club symphony with aplomb, directing traffic on the dancefloor and warning his opps to step off before Sliink takes over to flip and chop Bandman’s vocals into a euphoric concoction. “Real Hips II” will appear on DJ Sliink’s forthcoming EP.

Known to his peers as “The Father of Jersey Club,” DJ Sliink helped spread the genre from humble beginnings in Newark, New Jersey’s DIY party spaces to international culture hotspots like London, Paris, Milan, and Japan, with mainstream attention from Pitchfork, Billboard, SPIN, FADER, and more. Sliink has collaborated with stars like Doja Cat, Marshmello, Flosstradamus, and Skrillex, even signing to the latter’s OWSLA imprint for a time. Currently the host of his weekly radio show #GlobalCultureRadio on SiriusXM/Diplo’s Revolution, Sliink’s impact is felt off the dancefloor as well–in 2020, he was named a Billboard 2020 Change Agent for Acts Of Change. recognized for his push for equality and diversity in Dance Music and beyond.
