Deante’ Hitchcock wins fans with his sharp pen, his conversational flow, and his boisterous personality. All of these attributes are out in full force in “I Got Money Now,” his latest music video. Produced by Deante’s go-to guy Brandon Phillips-Taylor, who works in a sample of Minnie Riperton’s classic “Les Fleur,” “I Got Money Now” is a thumping dirty south anthem about making something out of nothing: “Remember they told me that I wouldn’t get it/Then I went and got it (Hmm, sh*t, huh)/I ain’t have shit but lint in my pockets, n****/I was havin’ withdrawals, now I’m at the bank/Makin’ deposits, n****,” opens Deante’.

The new video, directed by GLP, pays tribute to those hustling to make ends meet and those dreaming of a bag big enough to swim in. Deante’ plays multiple roles: a pastor cribbing from the collection plate, a postal worker sick of delivering heavy packages, a robber planning a stickup, a divorce lawyer presenting evidence of infidelity, and a college student trying to finesse a check after getting hit by a car. “I Got Money Now” (which features an appearance from JID in the audio version) is the latest video from BETTER, Deante’ Hitchcock’s debut album, following the Complex-premiered “Attitude” ft. Young Nudy and “How TF” ft. 6LACK (1.1 million views).

Introspective. Talented. Lyricist. These are just a few words to describe Grammy-nominated rising Atlanta artist Deante’ Hitchcock. After dropping out of Georgia Southern University, Deante’ decided that rap was his only option and began working harder than ever by releasing mixtapes and videos that created an undeniable buzz. His witty, charismatic social media freestyle videos generated his highest exposure, catching the attention of celebs like Wale and Charlamagne Tha God, and eventually led to a recording deal with Mark Pitts’ ByStorm Entertainment.
