Video: DC The Don – “Ghost Rider“
The Multi-Talented Milwaukee Native Indulges His Inner Emo Kid and Channels The Sandlot in His Self-Directed New Video
Critical Praise:
“Not only can he sing with so much emotion behind his words, but he also knows how to masterfully rap as well as switch up his cadences constantly, always keeping you guessing about what he’s going to do next.” – Lyrical Lemonade
“Los Angeles by way of Milwaukee’s DC The Don is part rapper, part rockstar, excelling in the melodic and riotous lane popularized by cult heroes like Lil Uzi Vert and Trippie Redd.” – Audiomack
The Video:
Melding sounds from rock and rap into a high-energy hybrid, DC The Don is in a lane of his own. Showing off his vocal talent, DC shares “Ghost Rider” and its accompanying music video. Combining churning pop-punk guitars with crisp handclaps and echoing 808s, “Ghost Rider” is an instant mood-booster, soaring as DC’s vocals effortlessly switch between snappy flows and full-throated belts. Directed by Coblan and DC himself, using the moniker RAG3 KIDD, the new video tells a years-spanning love story between DC and his middle school sweetheart, mixing in summer-friendly clips of DC and friends playing baseball in the park before celebrating at a BBQ.
“Ghost Rider” marks the Milwaukee native’s first new release since his successful 2020, marked by his debut album Come As You Are and its deluxe edition. With more than 75 million streams across platforms, Come As You Are emphasizes the importance of being authentic to your creative self. The album was home to DC’s buzzing single “WORST DAY 🙁“ (12 million total streams), as well as standout ragers like “Wait Your Turn,” “NASCAR RACER,” and “Campfire Story.” Featuring production from Supah Mario, Trademark, SephGotTheWaves, and more, Come As You Are (Deluxe) is available everywhere via Rostrum Records.
DC The Don is currently hard at work finishing up his follow-up to Come As You Are, set to release later this year. Stay tuned for much more music from the 21-year-old multi-talent in the weeks to come.
