Cortisa Star Turns Up the Heat With “PARIS,” Her Ferocious New Single

Fresh Off Interviews with The FADER and PAPER Mag, the Charli XCX Co-Signed Sensation Lives Large in the City of Light During Paris Fashion Week, Where She Walked the Runway at Miu Miu’s Show

“Paris” Continues the 19-Year-Old Rapper’s Run of Viral Hits, Including 2024’s “FUN” and Last Month’s umru-Produced “Misidentify”

Critical Praise:

“At every level, Cortisa Star is shaking up the rap game” – DAZED

“The Delaware native first blew up on TikTok for raunchy bars about furry conventions and opium trade over blown-out bass beats” – Interview Magazine

Cortisa Star is rap’s underground supernova” – The FADER

“It’s been a momentous few days for Cortisa Star, a 19-year-old Delaware-based rapper whose bombastic and risqué rap songs have become the latest obsession of X and garnered a co-sign from Charli xcx. If you’re new to her catalog, start with ‘Cortisa Crump,’ her February 2024 single that morphs a holy church hymnal into a bass-busting drill ripper.” – The FADER

The Song:

Cutting through distorted instrumentals with serrated flexes, Cortisa Star has her sights on world domination. The 19-year-old artist brings her blown out sound to a new continent in “PARIS,” her latest banger, produced by Cowboy Heaven. Ratcheting up the tempo and borrowing hardstyle sounds from European clubs, Cortisa commandeers the dancefloor, switching flows and layering her voice into an unstoppable attack: “Face card don’t decline, I ain’t playing, even Prada want me/Cognac from the French, b*tch I’m sippin’, keep that bottle on me,” she announces. “PARIS” arrives shortly after Cortisa returned from Paris Fashion Week, where she walked the runway during Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2025 fashion show. Cortisa’s Miu Miu debut earned notice from VogueW Magi-DWonderlandThe Face, and many others.

Blurring the lines between smack-talking rap music and audacious hyperpop, Cortisa Star is having a major moment. “Paris” follows “Misidentify,” produced by umru (Charli XCX, A.G. Cook) and DJH, a corrosive mission statement and aural attack, in which the openly-trans artist sets her sights on haters who hide behind computer screens. Cortisa followed the drop of “Misidentify” by sitting for interviews with PAPER Mag and The FADER, who called Cortisa “rap’s underground supernova.”

Cortisa Star’s viral rise started in late 2024 with “FUN,” her ear-bleeding anthem, which went viral in late 2024 along with its accompanying From The Block performance. With her clear-frame glasses, leopard-print coat, Spider-Man t-shirt, and her sexually frank, flex-heavy bars, she charmed and intrigued the online public–including stars like Charli XCX, who follows her on Instagram–racking up over 5 million streams in the process.

Born and raised in Delaware, Cortisa Star has developed her brand of internet-pilled rap music by releasing a series of bite-sized singles in 2023 and 2024. She first attracted attention with 2023’s “Get It Down,” a frenetic, hyperpop-adjacent banger that racked up over 1 million streams across platforms. 2024’s “Cortisa Crump” caught the ear of tastemakers like The FADER, who praised how the song “morphs a holy church hymnal into a bass-busting drill ripper.” After the release of “FUN,” Cortisa opened up about her viral fame in interviews with DAZED and Interview Magazine, establishing the young star as a burgeoning fashion icon.

Blazing her own trail and daring the internet to catch up, Cortisa Star is ready for her time in the limelight. Stay tuned for more music from Cortisa, including her debut EP, in the near future.
