An imitable voice in the South Florida scene for over half a decade, Danny Towers knows what it takes to be a lasting presence in the fast-moving world of music. Reprising his bonafides as the last man standing on business, Danny shows there’s no two ways about his top dog status in his new video single, “One.” Backed by a haunting synth melody, pitter-pattering snares, and menacing bass, Danny embodies the cold, calculated demeanor of an OG that can only come from experience on the track as he continues to perfect his hustle: “Got a brand new choppa from Lebanon, I’m making plays at the Chevron/This perky got me like an astronaut, the moon what I’m stepping on/If you ain’t gon’ shoot, n****, pass the Glock, I hang out the Rubicon/This Rollie on me full of rocks, I f*ck up a check, put my shooters in Vetements.”
The video for “One” invites viewers to ride along for a day in the life of Danny from a fly-on-the-wall perspective inside his car. Making moves throughout the city as he picks up a bag, kicks back with his homies, courts a new lady friend, and handles business even when the deal goes sideways, the video puts its audience in the backseat quite literally, highlighting Danny as the star of this story, and more importantly, the only “One” in control.
“One” arrives as Danny’s latest single, following a stretch of recent collaborative singles, like “Double Park” with GT, “Special Bullets” with Robb Bank$ and the Tony Shhnow-featuring “Heavy.” These singles arrived in the wake of Safe House, his recent collaborative project with DJ Scheme, home to the viral single, “Florida Water” ft. Luh Tyler & Ski Mask The Slump God, which earned praise from XXL, Stereogum, HotNewHipHop, and more. “Florida Water” inspired a photo dump trend on TikTok, where creators drop the flyest selfies in their Photos app as the beat drops and Danny’s infectious hook, “Threw him in that water, I’m from Florida, but my wrist Cuban,” gives way to Luh Tyler’s croaking verse. Peaking at #1 on TikTok’s trending charts, the song generated over 200k video creations on TikTok, over 35 million streams on all platforms, and reached the top spot on SoundCloud’s daily chart. Home to recent videos like “Chunky Munkey” ft. Loe Shimmy, “Rolls Truck” ft. About Danny Towers
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Orlando, FL, Danny Towers is a fixture in the Florida rap underground. He’s regularly collaborated with artists like Ski Mask The Slump God, XXXTentacion, and many more, making an impact with his gravelly voiced delivery and bone-tough lyricism. Towers earned critical acclaim in 2019 with his debut album Tarantula, and scored his first two Gold records with the help of his friend DJ Scheme. Towers’ back-and-forth with Ski Mask on Scheme’s hard-hitting “How You Feel?” (2019), also featuring Lil Yachty, helped the song rack up over 100 million combined streams.
