With a grape and blue raspberry-colored afro and an unhinged charisma, Birmingham rapper TNT Tez has punchlines for days, months, and years. Sliding in atop an impossibly hard music box instrumental, Tez aggressively unleashes offbeat similes in “Lit,” his latest single. Rocking a denim jacket emblazoned with an image The Simpsons‘ Sideshow Bob, who shares Tez’s hairstyle, Tez wilds out in various settings, from a gorgeous apartment, to a vacant alleyway, and a terrace rooftop. Premiered by ELEVATOR, “Lit” boasts some of Tez’s most outlandish punchlines: “Run up in your house all black like I’m John Wick,” “Bitch I’m from Alabama, speak stupid grammer,” “Pop a bean, sip a lean, now you fuckin’ slump/I love you Jen-nay, like I’m Forrest Gump.”

“Lit” is the latest in a long line of inventive videos, including the psychedelic video for “Drift,” the energetic clip for “Wok,” the paintball-heavy “Choppa, and the head-spinning “Top.” More recently, Tez collaborated with two Alamo Records labelmates, including last month’s connection with wifisfuneral for the T.I.-interpolating “Roll,” and last week’s slinky slapper “Ducced Off,” with L.A. rapper 03 Greedo.

Brimming with swagger, TNT Tez has the confidence of a veteran. Armed with his firm belief that he’s the best rapper in his city of Birmingham, Alabama, Tez broke out earlier in 2018, sharing infectious bangers like “Cropped Out,” which has over 750k streams on all platforms, and the ferocious “Coca Cola,” which recently surfaced in the Season 3 premiere of HBO’s Insecure. With only a small number of tracks released to the public, TNT Tez prepares to close out a massive 2018 as he shares more standout tracks. TNT Tez is a recent signee to Alamo Records.
