Critical Praise:
“…a mesmerizing, unremittingly morose testament to Lucki’s own sneaky, sing-song catchiness. He’s been perfecting his wounded and woozy rap for almost a decade, and the result is so irresistible you might find yourself accidentally groaning.” – Pitchfork on FLAWLESS LIKE ME
“Lucki Can Tell Nothing But His Truth…Lucki is shameless about his pain. Whether the 22-year-old Chicagoan—born Lucki Camel Jr.—is rapping about his bouts with depression and anxiety, his role in sabotaging his romantic relationships, or his prescription drug addiction, he refuses to hide his flaws. His candor about his life lows has made him a relatable antihero to a loyal cult following of fans who regularly take to social media with comments like, ‘Lucki changed my life’ or ‘Lucki gets me’ whenever he releases new music or opens up about his struggles publicly.” – Pitchfork
“Lucki has been applying the truths of this life to his music for the better part of a decade.” – Complex
“Lucki has been building his resume for years, crafting understated, infectious tracks that have shades of fellow Chicagoans like Chief Keef and Supa Bwe, but a swagger and sensibility that is all his own.” – Pigeons & Planes
“Lucki’s music can feel like you’re about to be submerged in a swamp or like you’re about to fall asleep behind the wheel of the Lamborghini from Suicide Squad“ – The FADER
‘On this blessed day, we also get Days B4 III, the new full-length from Lucki, the muttering young cult-rap icon whose self-destructive lyrics have the power to punch you in your soul.” – Stereogum
The Announcement:
Since he was a teenager, LUCKI has been steadily building a cult fanbase, creating an influential discography and succeeding on his own terms. After spending some time in the lab, the Chicago native prepares his next statement, officially announcing DR*GS R BAD. His first album since 2024’s GEMINI!, home to the GOLD-selling single “RIP,” DR*GS R BAD is a wide-ranging effort that chronicles the rapper’s complicated relationship with illicit substances, diving into the conflict between their positive effect on his creativity and negative effect on his state of mind. The upcoming album is LUCKI’s most ambitious to date, subsuming high-wattage guests and a cadre of innovative producers, including regular collaborators like Brent Rambo and Bhristo, into his insular sound. Home to the recent single “Not So Virgo Of You” (2 million views) and the Lil Durk tribute “Free Mr. Banks,” DR*GS ARE BAD arrives on May 15th via EMPIRE.
Along with the announcement of the album, LUCKI announces that DR*GS R BAD will be available on vinyl and CD. Fans will be able to purchase the album on orange vinyl, regular black vinyl, CD, and a limited edition orange vinyl signed by LUCKI himself. Physical copies of DR*GS R BAD are available for pre-order at https://www.luckivault.com/
DR*GS R BAD is the culmination of an era for LUCKI, who has been keeping busy by releasing singles like “I Don’t Care…” ft. Lil Yachty, which earned notice from Pitchfork and racked up over 3.4 million views on its music video, “OverTh!nking,” and “Diamond Stitching.” In 2025, the West Sider remained tapped in with his hometown, dedicating “Free Mr. Banks” to Lil Durk and collaborating with the rising star Chuckyy on “Hotseat.” In 2024, LUCKI released GEMINI! (613 million streams to date), which debuted at #20 on the Billboard 200, #7 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart, and #3 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart, home to fan-favorites like the viral “RIP” (105 million Spotify streams, #39 peak on TikTok’s Top 50), recently certified GOLD, “Heavy On My Heart” (46 million Spotify streams), and “BBY Goat,” his second collab with Future, following 2022’s GOLD-selling “Kapitol Denim.” Proudly independent for his whole career, LUCKI continues to rack up accolades, earning six GOLD certifications and one PLATINUM (“New Drank”) certification in the past year alone.
With DR*GS R BAD on the way, LUCKI hopes to shape the mainstream in his image. Stay tuned for more music and information about the new album, coming very soon.
