Unflappable in the face of success and always cool in a crisis, Rockie Fresh is one of the rap game’s most reliably chill figures. In a mood to celebrate his rise from nothing to something, Rockie shares “VS Ideas,” a brand new single. Saluting his well-earned life of luxury with lilting melody Rockie raises his glass as he enjoys the spoils of his success: “I done came up in the game, now I’m a pro wit it/These n****s say they in the game, but they got no minutes.” Produced by Mathaius Young, “VS Ideas” is the second new song the Chicago native dropped in 2020, following “Let It Be,” which earned placement on Spotify’s Most Necessary playlist.
Last week, Rockie shared the visual for “Must Be,” a Chris Brown-featuring highlight track from Destination, Rockie’s debut album. With coverage from Billboard, HYPEBEAST, and HotNewHipHop, Destination arrived shortly after Rockie left Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group and inked a deal with Rostrum Records. Last year’s album hosted video singles like “Round Here” and “Maria,” and benefitted from the laid-back charm Rockie lends to each release. Earlier this year, Rockie shared the playful clip for album highlight “Feelings Hurt,” which features appearances from Rockie’s frequent collaborator Casey Veggies and his Rostrum labelmate 24hrs.
