Following the release of collabs with IAMSU! and Too $hort, Oakland rookie C-Money is ready to share a new slap featuring HBK Gang‘s Kool John. Premiered by Complex, “Shut It Down” is further proof that C-Money has the playful charisma and signature Bay swing that his collaborator’s crew has brought to hip-hop’s forefront in the past few years. On “Shut It Down,” C-Money slips in one of the last great club anthems of 2014. As Complex states, “this is an essential West Coast party track. The beat has that classic Bay feel: heavy bass and hard 808’s, and both rappers know how to ride it perfectly.” Cuffing season be damned. “Shut It Down” has enough energy to turn the night up for months to come.

When C-Money spits, “Fresh Prince, baby, just like Will,” he couldn’t be more correct. “Shut It Down” is the type of booming party jam that can be played at house parties from the Bay to Bel-Air and beyond. Not many rappers can make the type of hook that gets lodged in your cerebral for days to come. With a smooth style and a jovial demeanor, Oakland California rapper, C-Money is easy to get along with.
