Grammy-nominated songwriter Bobby Brackins and IAMSU are sharing their “Faithful” New Bay Remix, adding fresh vibes to the infectious song that features Ty Dolla $ign on the hook and Nic Nac on the beat. Bay Area native and LA-based Bobby Brackins is gearing up for a trilogy EP release, … To Live For, … To Kill For, and … To Die For, and released “Faithful” at the top of the year as the first single via Interview Magazine. … To Live For, which will be released on May 13th, features a powerhouse roster of artists Bobby’s worked with over the years as a songwriter including Ty Dolla $ign, Zendaya (for whom he wrote her first hit single, “Swag It Out” in 2011,) Eric Bellinger, Austin Mahone, Jeremih, G-Eazy,Marc E. Bassy, Wash, and his budding artist, Mina.
Says Bobby Brackins, “This remix brings a whole new sound to the song. The original version had me rap-singing some fly, stunting-type sh*t but with this new version, I’m straight rapping and I’m referring to actual personal experiences. On this one, IAMSU kinda snapped on it old-school style, like he did for E-40’s ‘Function’ – he spazzed out on it. Between The Warriors and all the tech companies and all the music that’s coming out of the area, the Bay Area is seeing a resurgence and that’s why I called his the ‘New Bay Remix.'”
Co-writing hits including Tinashe‘s “2 On,” Chris Brown‘s “Loyal,” and Ty Dolla $ign’s E-40-assisted“Saved,” Bobby Brackins has proved himself an architect of the new California sound for years. Brackins also reunited with his old tour, DJ Mustard, in late 2015, to co-write “In My Room,” a collaboration with DJ trio Yellow Claw featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Young Money rapper Tyga.
