MP3: Bobby Brackins – “Faithful” ft. Ty Dolla $ign (Prod. by Nic Nac)

The Song:

Grammy-nominated, Los Angeles-based songwriter Bobby Brackins just keeps the bangers coming. The Oakland native is gearing up for a 3-part EP release, … To Live For, … To Kill For, and … To Die For, with the Ty Dolla $ign-assisted single “Faithful.” With an infectious hook and production by frequent collaborator Nic Nac, the California hitmakers deliver an anthem about having difficulties remaining loyal with so many options around. “Faithful” is a strong first offering from … To Live For, which features a powerhouse roster including Ty Dolla $ign, Zendaya, Eric Bellinger, Austin Mahone, Jeremih, G-Eazy, Marc E. Bassy, Wash, and his budding artist, Mina.

“Ty put the icing on the cake,” Bobby Brackins tells Interview Magazine in their premiere of the single. “Me and Ty have been making music together since ‘Toot It and Boot It‘ and ‘143.’ We went on our first tour together, we made a mixtape together called Young and Hungover. He’s my buddy and he’s mad talented… Nic Nac made the beat, we’ve been making music together for over ten years now. It’s a blessing to be able to work on music with people who you came up with years down the line.”

Bobby Brackins has been proving himself as an architect of the new California sound for years, co-writing hits including Tinashe‘s “2 On,” and Chris Brown‘s “Loyal.” More recently, he co-wrote the hit Ty Dolla $ign single “Saved,” which features fellow Bay Area artist E-40 and super-producer DJ Mustard behind the boards. Brackins also joined forces with DJ Mustard in late 2015, co-writing “In My Room,” a collaboration with DJ trio Yellow Claw featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Young Money rapper Tyga. Brackins was also featured in a Forbes interview, giving insights on his career as a hitmaker and solo artist writing a summer banger of his own, “My Jam” with Zendaya and Jeremih. Bobby Brackins is thriving- and he’s ready to step into the spotlight as a writer, rapper, and solo act in 2016. Fans can expect … To Live For as the first part of his forthcoming 3-part EP.
