The Single:

BIGBABYGUCCI blazes his own trail through the rap game with each new release. The underground icon and proud Charlotte native shares his new single “Captain Crashout,” ahead of Baby 5, his next project, arriving August 5th. The track immediately immerses listeners into a dark, atmospheric space, hypnotizing with mystical synths. After the mesmeric instrumental intro, BIGBABYGUCCI enters with his assertive vocals, warning his opps to duck and cover: “Sniper clean I seen ‘em lurkin’ / Viper 10 i got ‘em hurtin’ / He say he the biggest / Say that sh*t when you see me in person”. The Charlotte artist also emphasizes the importance of loyalty: “I give glocks to all my entourage / They down to do my drill / If you got my back you my confidant / Give you all this sh*t”. 

“Captain Crashout” arrives ahead of Baby 5, BIGBABYGUCCI’s upcoming project, arriving August 5th. He announced the project last month, returning with “Balenciaga Store Closed,” a flex-heavy banger, “You A Joke,” a ruthless haters anthem, and his wavy new single “Pink Sprite.” GUCCI will perform songs from the album and highlights from his career on the “Baby 5 Tour,” launching this August. The 8-date tour stops in markets like Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Toronto, and features support from MDMA and Lil Surf. Tickets for the “Baby 5 Tour” are available at 12pm local time.

Baby 5 will be BIGBABYGUCCI’s first official project of 2024, following a busy 2023 in which he released four standalone albums. An extremely prolific artist, the Charlotte native has been buzzing in the underground since his debut 2016 project A F*cking Mixtape, now renamed ART HOE Collection on streaming services. At the age of 18, he established what would become 1500Forever, a collective of artists, producers, filmmakers, photographers, and designers, all whom he would eventually meet through Twitter, which fueled his creative energy into multiple new projects, including his breakout mixtape Romance Isn’t Dead. BIGBABYGUCCI eventually went on to release “Drop Top Lexus” (17.8M Spotify streams), his biggest song to date. His cult following grew even larger with hits like 2020’s “Can’t Feel Shit” (7.8M Spotify streams) and 2021’s “Seeing Ghosts” (4.3M streams).

With Baby 5 on the way, it’s only a matter of time before BIGBABYGUCCI is a household name. Watch the young rapper as he raises his game in his hometown of Charlotte and beyond.
