Project: Big Moochie Grape – East Haiti Baby
The Follow-Up to 2020’s Acclaimed Eat Or Get Ate Puts a Spotlight on Big Moochie’s Larger-Than-Life Persona, With Assistance from His PRE Labelmates Young Dolph, Key Glock, & Kenny Muney
The East Memphis Artist Pays Tribute to Another Big Stepper in Brand New “Christopher Wallace” Video
It’s hard-working hustler music that never lets up, with a beat that never sleeps. Big Moochie Grape makes soundtracks not just for grinding, but for surviving. – Pitchfork
With a boatload of charisma and money on his mind, Big Moochie Grape has East Memphis on his back and a lot to get off his chest. Returning to remind the opposition why the place he comes from is the same they run from, the PRE rising star reps his hometown proudly with his new mixtape, East Haiti Baby, available everywhere now via Paper Route Empire.
Aided by signature Tennessee-style production from Bandplay, Sosa 808, Ayoza, and more, the tape chronicles Moochie’s rise from the trap to the top, showcasing the street acumen and sly grin that has him rising in his city and beyond. East Haiti Baby is home to Moochie’s ice-cold singles “I’m The One” and “Never Had Sh*t,” each of which earned over 1 million views on Youtube in recent weeks. Continuing a dominant year for Paper Route Empire as they honor Young Dolph‘s legacy, Moochie enlists Key Glock and Kenny Muney for features, and shares a new verse from Dolph himself on mixtape highlight “Fun.” Whether he’s bouncing over a Bill Withers’ sample on “East Haiti Baby,” belting out cash-crazed melodies on “Money Money Money,” or swapping spitfire flows with Dolph, the Memphis native’s colorful charisma is felt throughout the 15-track tape.
Along with the tape, Big Moochie channels another notorious rapper in the video for “Christopher Wallace,” out now. Filmed in late 2021, the video finds Big Moochie, aka The Notorious BMG, rocking a COOGI-style sweater and making a pilgrimage to Bedford-Stuyvesant, where the late Christopher Wallace once roamed the streets. The Southerner makes himself at home in NYC, mobbing in the projects on St. James and Fulton, before joining up with Young Dolph and cruising through Times Square. The evening ends, as all NYC nights must, with a trip to the bodega.
Big Moochie Grape burst onto the scene in 2020 with Eat Or Get Ate, an hard-hitting EP that earned coverage in XXL, UPROXX, 2DopeBoyz, HotNewHipHop, and more. Home to singles like “Big Juice” and “Uh Huh Uh Huh Uh Huh” (4.4 million views), Eat Or Get Ate established Moochie as one of PRE’s most valuable players. The rapper returned with a vengeance on Paper Route Empire’s PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi mixtape, turning in highlight tracks like “Illuminati Business” and “Non Stop” (1.2 million views), and made his mark on Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph, delivering the powerful and defiant “In Dolph We Trust“ (1.4 million YouTube views).
With East Haiti Baby , Big Moochie Grape is determined to hit it big and keep Paper Route Empire’s winning streak going. Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks.
