Detroit Heavy Hitter Baby Money Connects With G.T. for “Armageddon,” from the Upcoming Album Less Is More

The West Side Detroit Rapper Continues to Be His City’s Foremost Purveyor of Hustle-Hard Anthems, As He Recruits an Eastside Veteran For an Apocalyptic Banger

Critical Praise:

“Lifted by the recent success of Icewear Vezzo, Babyface Ray and Baby Money, Motor City hip-hop is gaining steam.” – Billboard

“Along with crafty bars, much of what has made Baby Money successful behind the mic has been a very authoritative tone he has in his voice. You feel his energy behind the bars just as clearly as you see the picture he’s lyrically painting. Whether he’s rapping about getting money or going against his opps, he makes you feel like you’re doing it all with him.” – Detroit Metro Times

“The slick-talking Detroit rapper is all flash and swag, and he’s an expert at making the listener feel broke” – Pitchfork

“Baby Money is a sharp, technical rapper with a good sense of humor who spits about making money and showing off as if it’s second nature” – XXL

“Along with fiery bars, much of what has made Baby Money successful has been his very commanding tone of voice. You feel his energy behind the lyrics just as clearly as you see the picture he’s painting.” – Okayplayer

The Video:

Rising from the West Side of Detroit, Baby Money built a big audience in his city and beyond with his effortless flexes and sly charisma. Coming through with his latest hard-charging anthem, Baby Money connects with fellow Detroiter G.T. for the simmering “Armageddon” single and music video. Produced by ShekThisYours, the instrumental for “Armageddon” sounds like a lost monster movie theme, with tolling bells, low-note piano, and record scratches heralding impending doom. Baby Money and G.T. ride through like horsemen of the apocalypse, swapping rich life boasts with a menacing elegance: “Rocks inside of my watch, this b*tch caved in,” spits Baby Money, while GT sneers, “Had to call your b*tch back, was on the phone with my accountant.” In the video, directed with cinematic flair by Tremaine Edwards, Baby and G.T. run an illicit operation out of a row house in Detroit, moving carefully to dodge the prying eyes of the federal government.

“Armageddon” is the first glimpse of Less Is More, Baby Money’s next project and his second of 2025. Continuing his run as one of his city’s hardest-working emcees, the upcoming Less Is More follows Motivational Purposes Only, Baby Money’s February 2025 tape, with guest spots from Payroll GiovanniBabyfxce E, and, G.T.. A glistening ode to the power of simplicity and the art of getting money, Baby Money’s Less Is More arrives in the coming weeks via Thrd Eye Ent / EMPIRE.

Since his emergence in the late 2010s, 27-year-old Baby Money developed a reputation as one of Detroit’s most exciting and skilled young rappers. He stood out even amidst a crowded scene of rappers from his state with his stankface-inducing wordplay and authoritative flexes, rhyming with the gravitas of an OG and the hunger of a young striver. He broke through onto the national confidence with street hits like “Tables Turn,” “Get Dangerous,” and the Pitchfork-acclaimed “Moncler Bubble.” Baby Money’s run earned him a deal with Quality Control in 2023, and garnered attention from Billboard in an article about the ascendant Detroit scene. After releasing several projects with QC, Baby Money is freshly independent and ready to grind, continuing his mission to rise from the West Side of Detroit to the top of the rap game.
