Mixtape: B.A. The Great – Cross Town

The ATL Lyricist Makes a Promising Splash with His New Mixtape, Complete With Raucous Club Anthems and Street Tales

11.30.2018

The Video:

Earning the praise of some of the biggest names in ATL’s rap scene with his stark honesty and gruff lyricism, B.A. The Great is one of his city’s most exciting new talents. Collecting eleven tracks that span the trap spectrum, B.A. The Great announces Cross Town, his first mixtape, premiered by HipHopDX. Ricocheting from hard-nosed club tracks like the lead single “Trap Krazy,“ premiered in September by HYPEBEAST and with a video premiered by Dirty-Glove Bastard, to loyalty anthems like the HipHopDX-premiered “Bus Patna,” to introspective boom-bap like the Biggie Smalls-sampling opening track “Everyday Struggle,” Cross Town is an impressive debut. Packed with pearls of wisdom and rhythmic hooks, Cross Town tells a story of redemption, detailing the lengths B.A. forced himself to go through to keep himself alive. Executive produced by Mike WiLL Made It and featuring production from Mike WiLL, Go Grizzly, Lo Get Em, Few Beats, and others, Cross Town is a promising and absorbing project from one of the ATL scene’s most incisive trap lyricists.

Says B.A. The Great: “I couldn’t have done this without my city and without Mike WiLL. I just want to thank everybody that help me get me to this point. To the people standing on the corner, or going through struggles everyday, and for the everyday hustlers… this is your soundtrack.”
