The Announcement:

Last night, Chief Keef performed his first headlining concert in his hometown of Chicago in 14 years, electrifying the hometown crowd with hits from across his catalog. The rap legend was in rare form, interacting with his fans from the stage and soaking in the celebratory vibes, performing dozens of songs for more than 2 hours at Huntington Bank Pavilion. Sosa performed hits like “I Don’t Like,” “Love Sosa,” “Faneto,” and many more, with energetic assistance from his Glo Boyz associates Tadoe & Ballout. During the performance, Sosa delighted the crowd by bringing out a special guest: fellow Chicagoan Chance The Rapper, who showed up to perform some of his own hits alongside Sosa.

Sosa’s hometown show is part of his “Chief Keef Live 2026” tour, which will travel to major markets nationwide, including New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Denver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, before concluding October 28 at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas. The set will span Chief Keef’s expansive catalog, from Finally Rich staples like “Love Sosa” to material from his latest mixtape, Skeletor, with support from The Glo Boyz and surprise guest appearances expected throughout the tour.

A DEFINING YEAR
Chief Keef enters the tour following a period of significant creative and commercial momentum. His 2024 album Almighty So 2 debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart and No. 9 on Top Rap Albums, and was named among the best releases of 2024 by Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, The New Yorker, Complex, and Dazed. Rolling Stone also named Finally Rich one of the 200 Greatest Hip-Hop Albums of All Time, underscoring Chief Keef’s continued influence on the genre.

In 2026, Chief Keef released the viral tracks “Shake Dat” and “Rooms,” collaborated with Katy Perry on the “Legendary Lovers Remix,” and released Skeletor, setting the stage for the current tour.

The Background:

Chief Keef is a Chicago-born rapper, producer, and cultural icon whose influence on modern hip-hop is widely recognized. Emerging as a teenager, he helped pioneer the sound and aesthetic that became synonymous with Chicago drill, influencing artists across generations and genres. With a career spanning more than fifteen years, Chief Keef continues to evolve on his own terms, balancing an expansive catalog with a steady stream of new music.

Critical Praise:

Rolling Stone’s 200 Best Hip-Hop Albums of All-Time (Finally Rich, #32)

“‘Almighty So 2’ is this big all the way through. Keef stays restless, indulging wild thoughts and building them out to feature-length productions.”  – Pitchfork

“The most striking element of ‘Almighty So 2,’ and Chief Keef’s career at this moment, is his emotional progression.” – Rolling Stone

“Eleven years later, his long-teased sequel, ‘Almighty So 2’ delivers with the immediacy of the first — but it is markedly different. Keef has never sounded more polished, more professional — but he stays true to himself.” – Associated Press

“There’s no denying the influence of Keef’s menacing production, straightforward verses, and early D.I.Y. rap ethos on the generation of hip-hop artists that has followed.” – Pitchfork

“The influence and staying power of Chief Keef really cannot be overstated.” – The FADER

“There is still nothing that feels like ‘Love Sosa,’ the breakout single from a then 17-year-old Chief Keef, from his debut album, Finally Rich. The Chicago rapper’s melodic, hard-nosed anthem shook the foundation of hip-hop. The kids were taking control in a way that the genre had never seen.” – Rolling Stone
