All paces, from walkers to runners to those who just want to hang out, are welcome.
“I’ve been running for about a year and a half,” says P-Lo, “and I’ve already completed marathons in San Francisco and Oakland. Running is kind of like music, it’s cool alone but it’s better with people. I just wanted to bring people together through both of those things. I feel like running givees me a different kind of determination in life, which comes through in my music. I feel unstoppable.”

P-Lo’s first-ever full marathon is the crowning achievement in what has been a massive year for the Pinole, CA native. This summer, P-Lo released his new album Out The Box, which blends classic regional sounds with cutting edge production techniques to create a visceral and extremely fun sonic experience. Out The Box finds the bassmaster in rare form, refining his bounce to a science, sprinkling in references and samples from Bay Area classics to ground the project in his hometown soil. A testament to P-Lo’s exalted status in the West Coast rap scene, the album is home to singles like “Dumblr,” a collaboration with E-40 and Kreayshawn, and recruits Bay Area legends from all generations, including 1 Umbrella, SOB x RBE, Karri, and Iamsu!, Clyde Carson and Ezale on “BAY BOYZ 4EVER,” to help him bring the bass back. Featuring additional appearances from Killer Mike, Sadboi, Bobby Brackins, and more, is available on all platforms via Everywhere Like Air / EMPIRE.
Out The Box landed as P-Lo rode the wave from his contribution to the year’s biggest hip-hop album, as he collaborated with Drake on “2 Hard 4 The Radio,” a highlight from Iceman. Paying tribute to the legendary Mac Dre, interpolating lyrics and flow from the late Vallejo artist’s 1989 classic “”Too Hard For the F@#kin’ Radio,” 5he new song continueD P-Lo’s mission to infuse his sound and the sound of the Bay Area into hip-hop’s mainstream, and continues to establish the artist as one of his region’s contemporary icons. “2 Hard 4 The Radio” became one of the album’s most popular tracks, racking up over 55 million Spotify streams, and peaking at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100.
