Known for his wry witticisms and malleable flow, Fort Worth, Texas rapper Jace! has ambitions to bring his melodic sound to the mainstream. The prolific 23-year-old artist makes his next move, officially announcing that he has signed to SLANG. Jace!’s new move is the latest step on the road to his new album, EAT SH!T, due to drop this summer.
Today, the underground hero comes through with “pajama,” an ethereal and confident new single. Produced by stanthekid, “pajama” layers percolating chimes atop soulful organ and speaker-rattling percussion, providing a pad for Jace! to launch his malleable flows. The young artist (formerly known as iayze) alternates soaring melodies with declarative bursts of energy, seemingly popping out of the speakers with his mischievous shouts of “psych!” Jace! takes the opportunity to flex, pondering the many things he can do with his ever-growing bankroll. Shot in crisp black-and-white, the music video–premiering at 12pm ET on Jace’s YouTube–finds Jace! in his front yard, showing off his twin watches and hanging out the door of his BMW.
Since he broke onto the scene as a 17-year-old, Jace! has never stopped working, dropping dozens of singles and tapes without ever sacrificing quality. He built a massive following on SoundCloud (275k followers), drawing fans with idiosyncratic hits like “556 (Green Tips),” which has over 72 million streams on Spotify alone. Overall, across projects like Reverance and Virtuous and additional hits like “GOOSE CREEK” and “20 Min,” which reached #14 on Billboard’s TikTok chart. Jace! racked up over 700 million streams to date, including 111 million views on his YouTube videos. A fixture in the underground scene, Jace! earned a co-sign from Lil Uzi Vert on his song “x2,” and was one of the first rappers to appear on PlaqueBoyMax’s In The Booth.
Over the past year, Jace! has been more active than ever, impressing with his 2025 album Greenway, named after his home neighborhood in Fort Worth. A musical omnivore, Jace! released his mixtape Flowers Die On Sunday, filled with guitars and inspired by alternative rock, over Easter weekend, racking up over 550k streams in its first week.
