The Announcement:
Making moves in Memphis with his sing-song flow and sly charisma, Kenny Muney cannot be stopped. Doubling back after releasing his new album Muney Talk 2, the Paper Route Empire stalwart returns with Muney Talk 2: The Encore Edition. The expanded version of the album features 8 new tracks, with production from the likes of Twysted Genius and more, several of which allow Kenny to indulge in his playalistic tendencies. “Puppy Love” and “Truck Full of Flowers” establish the rapper as a master of spitting game, delivering flirtatious verses and promising the world. “She Like Fine B*tches” finds Kenny working out his differences with his main squeeze by convincing her to join him, and “Come Here” lays Kenny’s rocksteady flow atop seductive saxophones. Kenny doesn’t just have a one-track mind: on “Going Crazy,” he rhapsodizes about his hopes and dreams with lilting melody, and on “Still Shining,” he proudly proclaims his superstar status.
A reward for his loyal fans, The Encore Edition adds heft and color to Muney Talk 2. The new album is a sequel to 2019’s Muney Talk, home to his breakout hit, “Feeling Me” (7.3 million streams on Spotify), as well as his early collaborations with Young Dolph (“AF”) and Key Glock (“Muney Talk”). Kenny recaptures his young and hungry self with the sequel, applying lessons learned in the intervening six years to create something new and exciting. The tape is home to singles like “Hunned” ft. Peezy and “Skincare,” and unites Kenny Muney with his PRE cohort Key Glock and Houston’s own Sauce Walka. The Background:
A native of South Memphis, Kenny Muney grew up idolizing rappers like Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, and Boosie. He started rapping at age 15, developing his aggressive aesthetic and honing his deeply rhythmic flow. Kenny got his first brush with fame when he released “YTN Freestyle,” which racked up over 2.5 million YouTube views, made him a neighborhood hero, and earned airplay on local radio. He made noise in 2019 with Muney Talk, his first mixtape for PRE. In 2020, Kenny Muney connected with his mentor Young Dolph for “No Regrets,” a highlight track from Dolph’s Rich Slave (Deluxe) album. “I’m never satisfied,” says Kenny Muney. “It’s a gift and a curse. I’m always looking for the next step.”
