Critical Praise:

“[Ricky] Hil is doing his own thing, he raps what’s on his mind, and it’s safe to say he doesn’t give a fuck what you think.” – HotNewHipHop

“Hil has been tasked with carving out his own space within music and culture. In the 2010s, he turned to emo rap, creating a murky sound that helped to influence GothBoiClique — namely Lil Peep.” – Alt Press

The Album:

An influential alt-rap figure with a malleable sound that centers his naked emotion, Ricky Hil specializes in vulnerable music that this time you can mosh to. Blessing this Friday The 13th with a haunting new full-length, the artist teams with Lex Luger to refine his punk trap sound on his new album, 10,000 Grams.

Produced in full by Lex Luger, the album is a sequel to the producer/rapper duo’s first project together, released in 2011 en route to fan-favorite status. Like the first project, 10,000 Grams is hosted by the legendary Trap-A-Holics, whose drops add a hard edge to Lex Luger’s grandeur. The 13-track project is a hard-hitting hedonistic journey, following Ricky as he deals with the ramifications of his rockstar lifestyle. Ricky indulges in his base tendencies, and lives to face the consequences. The album is an ideal soundtrack to the hours between 2am and dusk, where the confident euphoria of a night’s partying transforms into something more sinister.

Ricky sets the tone quickly with “HELL VALLEY,” a shimmering and subdued symphony of regret and suicidal ideation, as Lex provides thunderous 808s and mournful pianos: “I don’t care if I die, cause I’m dead already,” intones Ricky. From that launching point, 10,000 Grams takes a tour through Ricky’s mind and myriad tastes, with songs like “U LIKE ME DEAD” adding chugging electric guitars to nod to Ricky’s alt rap roots, while others like “OXYCONTIN” featuring the villainous synth melodies that won Lex Luger his notoriety. Ricky brings his Limosa Nostra associate SosMula for a series of duets, including recent single “BLOW,” in which the two artists ping-ponging off one another with macabre flexes. Featuring additional appearances from OmertáNiko G4, and Cl0wny10,000 Grams arrives via Ricky’s Limosa Nostra Records joint venture with Atlantic Music Group.

Along with the album, Ricky shares the video for 10,000 Grams highlight “SLUT.” The song is emblematic of Ricky and Lex’s partnership, with Lex’s monster movie synths providing an epic backdrop for Ricky’s rasping, raw flexes. The rapper touts his Swiss watch, compares himself to both baseball great Ken Griffey Jr. and Wes Craven villain Freddy Krueger, and gets faded in several different ways. In the video, Ricky gives a glimpse into his life, as he spends a torrid evening with a beautiful woman.

A natural-born trendsetter, Ricky Hil has been a fixture in the underground since emerging in the early 2010s. The artist’s dark and melodic sound, focusing inward on his personal issues and rockstar dreams, was a major influence on artists in the SoundCloud era, particularly GOTH BOY CLIQUE and their superstar, Lil Peep. In the ensuing years, Ricky has continued to innovate, eliminating the line between rap and alt-rock in his music.

Ricky is primed for a big year in 2026, highlighted by 10,000 Grams. This week, Ricky Hil and SosMula kicked off the “KILLA SEASON TOUR.” Spanning 13 dates,  featuring music from Sos’s KAMP KRYSTL LAKE and the upcoming10,000 Grams.

Stay tuned for much more from Ricky Hil in the near future.

About Ricky Hil
“Right now, I’m pushing boundaries. I’m working harder—but thinking less,” says veteran rapper, singer, designer, and Limosa Nostra founder Ricky Hil. He is holding himself to a higher standard and pushing to make his best music yet. “I’m not letting anything slide—no clichés or lazy lines.” Hil’s career has garnered over 50 million streams, featuring highlights such as the Lil Peep collaboration “Lost In The Mail”, 2014’s breakthrough “Nomads” with The Weeknd, and solo standouts “Pimp C” and “Amerikan.” Nearly two decades in, he remains committed to fusing cultures, breaking barriers, and leading with authenticity. “Every year, I try to add something new to my arsenal,” says Hil, who will release 10,000 Grams, a thematic sequel reunion with hit-making producer Lex Luger, before joining Limosa Nostra artist, friend, and collaborator SosMula on the Killa Season Tour.

Hil made his first splash during the late-2000s blog era. Working closely with esteemed A&R Sickamore, Ricky burst onto the scene, making acclaimed mixtapes like the 2009 Don Cannon-hosted Limos Were Cool In The 90’s and others that followed. Over time and experience, Ricky’s style and musical sensibilities veered bolder and darker. High-profile recognition coincided with key collaborations with Kid Cudi, Fat Trel, and The Weeknd. In the case of “Nomads,” the single from Ricky’s acclaimed SYLDD (Support Your Local Drug Dealer) album went on to achieve more than 25 million streams. “Certain songs will live with you forever,” he explains. The hazy duet arrived at an inflection point in the careers of The Weeknd and Ricky. It was another example of a peer seeking out Ricky Hil to collaborate.

Since launching his imprint, Ricky Hil has cemented himself as a DIY mainstay, dropping acclaimed projects including 2015’s Candy Painted Coffins and the first Lex Luger–produced 500 Grams, onto the introspective Same Sh*t Different Day and raw Suicidal Hil to 2023’s benchmark Limosa Nostra Act 5, along with two Problem Children volumes with Ouija Macc. If there’s a throughline in his evolution, Ricky credits his vulnerability. Those feelings resonate with fans through raw themes of addiction, heartbreak, anger, grief, and feeling alone or alienated. Hil strengthens that connection to the audience through direct engagement on social media as well as a thriving merch line, which he personally designs.

After building his career brick by brick, Ricky Hil is preparing his next powerful move with 10,000 Grams. He refuses to stray from the momentum that brought him here, sticking to the original blueprint. “I’m unapologetically myself,” he says, “and I can only create what I like.”
