Montana 700 Pays Tribute to Fallen Rapper Zeethewizard on Heartfelt New Single “LL Da Wizard“
The Rising Dallas Rapper Seeks To Unite His City As He Follows Up a Big 2025 With Even Greater Ambitions
Coming Off a Breakout Year Featuring Two Acclaimed Projects and Buzzing Singles Like “Boosie Flow” and “Loyalty Is Real” ft. YFN Lucci, “LL Da Wizard” is an Urgent and Moving Tribute to One of His City’s “Hidden Gems”
The Video:
As a leader of the “New Dallas” movement, Montana 700 has devoted his career to uniting his city, focusing on the scene’s shared ambitions and attempting to curb violence. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always go according to plan–Montana’s friend Dallas rapper Zeethewizard passed away at the beginning of this year. Paying tribute to his fallen friend, Montana releases “LL Da Wizard,” his latest single. The new song is a heart-pumping anthem, celebrating Wizard’s life and using the suddenness of his passing as motivation to keep going. The two rappers used to “sleep on each other’s floors, roaches in the fridge,” and Montana knows that Zeethewizard would have wanted him to conquer the game. In the video, Montana counts his blessing as he remembers his friend, watching clips from Zee’s music videos and plotting his next move.
“LL Da Wizard” is Montana’s first new single of 2026, following a breakout year for the young Texas artist. Montana’s 2025 was marked by arked by two acclaimed projects and several viral singles. Over the summer, Montana dropped his mixtape, The Greatest of All Traps, home to singles like “Loyalty Is Real” ft. YFN Lucci and “Boosie Flow.” Both songs were among Montana’s best-performing songs to date, with “Loyalty Is Real” reaching the Top 100 of YouTube’s Music Video chart (2.9 million total views) and “Boosie Flow” reaching the Top 20 of YouTube’s Trending Chart for Music (3.9 million views).
Earlier in the year, Montana dropped 700 Reasons, a high-octane tape that put a new twist on the Southern sound. The album featured songs like “Count A Hunnit,” featuring a sample of Jeezy’s “And Then What,” which earned positive attention from Jeezy himself, and “Pipeline” (Remix), his collaboration with BigXThaPlug. Both 700 Reasons and The Greatest Of All Traps are available on all platforms via Remain Solid / 300 Entertainment.
Born and raised in South Dallas, Montana 700 is ready to make 2026 his year. He first hit the scene in 2022, making music that combined the twangy and bass-heavy Dallas rap template with broader Southern rap sounds. Along with his close friend and frequent collaborator Zillionaire Doe, Montana 700 is a leader of the New Dallas movement, an effort from the younger generation to stop the violence that has plagued Dallas hip-hop for years, and instead to build a community-focused scene that will allow the whole city to prosper. Montana spoke about the New Dallas scene on a recent episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game. Most recently, in November 2025, Montana celebrated his birthday and laid out his goals on the exuberant “It’s My Birthday.”
With even more music to come very soon, Montana 700 prepares to make an impact on a grand scale. Stay tuned.
