Celebrating Global Black music and culture with must-attend events in Europe, Africa, the U.S., and Puerto Rico, Afro Nation is preparing for one of its most unique weekends yet. This November, as the brand celebrates its Fifth Anniversary, Afro Nation returns to the Caribbean with the first edition of Afro Nation Punta Cana, a multi-day experience in the Dominican Republic, offering performances by A-List artists, including headliners Sexyy Red and DJ Maphorisa, in venues around the seaside resort town. Afro Nation Punta Cana just announced the addition of a new headliner, Afrobeats legend Olamide (replacing Ayra Starr, who can no longer perform due to a scheduling issue). In addition, Afro Nation Punta Cana releases single-day tickets for vacationers looking for more flexible way to enjoy the action. Single-day tickets are available HERE
Today, Afro Nation announces the official day-by-day lineups, unveiling the weekend’s action-packed schedule and revealing which artists will perform at which of the festival’s three unique venues. On Thursday November 6th, Afro Nation hosts “Afro Wave,” Afro Nation Punta Cana’s official welcoming party, at El Dorado Waterpark. The next day, the music starts, as Afro Nation hits up Pearl Beach Club for two nights of dancing, on two stages. On November 7th, Olamide takes the stage, with support from Shallipop, Odeal and Rophnan, with Walshy Fire leading a dance party on the second stage. November 8th brings a high-octane evening filled with songs by headliner Sexyy Red, supported by Ruger and Moliy, with TxC leading a DJ lineup on Stage 2. On the festival’s final day, Afro Nation takes over El Dorado Waterpark once again, creating a festival-like atmosphere on the park’s grounds, with feverish performances by DJ Maphorisa, Felo Le Tee, and Love Bonez ending the festival on a dance-heavy high note.
With a number of partnering resorts helping to make the experience seamless, Afro Nation Punta Cana is a one-way ticket to paradise, with beautiful music and glorious weather to liven up the fall. For the first edition of Afro Nation Punta Cana, the festival is partnering with Hot 97, the iconic New York hip-hop and urban music station, and Trace, a leading multimedia and digital platform dedicated to Afro-urban music and cultures, to bring a digital festival experience to fans who cannot make the trip to the Dominican Republic. Hot 97 and Trace will present exclusive behind-the-scenes moments and interviews, daily highlights and recaps, and digital-first content to immerse fans deeper into the action. Afro Nation Punta Cana continues Afro Nation’s tradition of high-profile events in diverse global locales.
