1900Rugrat‘s unpredictable bars and quotable punchlines have established him as one of the South’s breakout rappers. Riding high off his recent placement on XXL’s 2025 Freshman List, 1900Rugrat takes a victory lap, sharing “Stop Runnin,” his new single and music video. Blessed with a piercing instrumental that calls back to ringtone rap and the first wave of trap, “Stop Runnin” provides a launching point for 19 to talk his smack, as he slides over the booming 808s and monster movie horns with his raspy drawl: “Me and bro hop out a Ghost, yeah of course we do the most/We used to hop out that Corolla/Versace for my baby, I went bought a Gucci stroller.” In the video, 19 and his crew take a trip down to Miami, where they sip dirty soda on a private boat before heading to the club.

“Stop Runnin” continues 1900Rugrat’s incredible rise, which started last summer with the release of “One Take Freestyle.” Propelled by 19’s snarling delivery, quotable bars, and an electric performance on On The Radar, “One Take Freestyle” went viral, generating over 100 million streams across platforms and just earned a GOLD certification from the RIAA. The Kodak Black-featuring remix spent more than a month on YouTube’s Trending Chart, and is currently the walk-up anthem for Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts. “One Take Freestyle” can be found on Porch 2 The Pent, 19’s debut mixtape, available everywhere via Remain Solid / 300 Ent. Most recently, 1900Rugrat connected with fellow Freshman Babychiefdoit and rising rapper BAK Jay for the J.R. Rotem- produced “Ain’t No Love.”

19’s XXL Freshman status is merely the latest accolade the young rapper has received this year. The New York Times praised “unpredictable rhyme choices” and his “preposterous punchlines,” anointing him an “Artist to watch,” while Billboard named him the “Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month” for April 2025 and The FADER named him one of the 30 Coolest Artists Right Now. 19 has spent much of the year performing, including making a recent appearances at Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash, shutting down his set at Rolling Loud California in March, and touring with BossMan Dlow on the “Dlow Curry Tour” this spring.
