A beloved street rapper on the West Coast, DB.Boutabag is known for his party-starting anthems and endlessly quotable smack talk. On his next mixtape, The Real Boutabag II, the Sacramento native gives fans a deeper look into his life as a working rapper, neighborhood hero, and new father. Home to the recent single “A Dad Talk,” a wholesome and hard-hitting ode to his young son, and with guest stars to be revealed, The Real Boutabag II arrives on July 25th.
Today, the 25-year-old artist returns to his hard partying ways, sharing “Both Ways,” his new video and single. Built around a cheeky sax riff and DB’s trademark blown out 808s, “Both Ways” chronicles the many ways DB knows he can’t be trifled with. He drives fast cars, messes with beautiful women, and rocks designer all day, yet still people try to step to him: “N****’s got his ball took, now he cryin’ bout the b*tch/You ain’t throw no racks in this club, this n**** threw a fit,” he spits. In the video, DB hosts a raucous house party filled with baddies and blue hundreds, proving that old habits die hard.
Since emerging from the South Sacramento street scene in 2020, DB.Boutabag has established himself as one of the most prolific slick talkers on either coast. With a style inspired by the greats from L.A. and The Bay, including the late Mac Dre, DB has generated tens of millions of streams across platforms, thanks to West Coast anthems like “1st Off,” “Don’t Choke,” “Cocky,” and “Fettucine.” The rapper has earned praise from the likes of Pitchfork, The FADER, and Passion of the Weiss, and has collaborated with everybody from 03 Greedo to Skilla Baby to Kamaiyah to the legendary Drakeo The Ruler on their street hit “Top Rapper.”
