The 17-Year-Old, gamma.-Signed R&B Prodigy Paves the Road to His Upcoming Debut EP With His Heavily-Choreographed New Video

JayDon‘s prodigious ability to sing, dance, and act has him rising in the R&B scene. The 17-year-old gamma.-signed polymath displays some of his extraordinary talent, particularly his silky smooth dancing, in the new music video for “I’ll Be Good.” Built around a sample of USHER’s “How Do I Say,” “I’ll Be Good” is a midtempo R&B heater, filled with flecks of Spanish guitar and hip-hop drums, punctuated by JayDon’s acrobatic vocal runs and culminating with a climactic key change. Directed by Jack Guerra, the new music video harkens back to the ’00s-era dance movie boom, as JayDon rushes across town to meet his dance partner, so the two can work on elaborate choreography and kindle crackling chemistry. The video ends with a sneak preview of JayDon’s next single, “Boujee Baby,” releasing this summer. With over 1.2 million global streams to date, “I’ll Be Good” released last month to praise from Billboard, BET, Rated R&B, and more.
“I’ll Be Good” is the third single of JayDon’s new R&B era, following “Ah! Ah!” ft. 310babii and “Lullaby” ft. Paradise (3 million global streams). Released in Fall 2024, “Ah! Ah!” is an energetic West Coast party anthem, uniting JayDon with fellow talented L.A. teen 310babii, which has over 500,000 streams across platforms, including 300k on its YouTube video. On Valentine’s Day, JayDon treated his fans to a lovely “Lullaby,” teaming up with rising artist Paradise, GRAMMY-nominated producer Harv, and songwriter Felisha King, formerly of the R&B group Cherish (“Do It To It”), to deliver a love song for the modern era. “I’ll Be Good,” “Ah! Ah!” and “Lullaby” will appear on Me, My Songs, and I, JayDon’s debut EP, coming later this year.
Born JD McCrary, JayDon might be young, but he has a remarkable resume–he’s been captivating audiences as an actor, dancer, and singer for over a decade while cementing himself as an artist for any era. JayDon broke onto the scene with performances on NBC’s Little Big Shots and collaborated with Childish Gambino on the iconic album Awaken, My Love!, which they performed together at the 2018 Grammys at the tender age of 9. With viral covers like his rendition of The Jackson 5’s “Who’s Loving You,” JayDon has quickly earned fans worldwide. At 10-years-old, he was the youngest male solo artist to sign with Disney/Hollywood Records, leading to his role voicing Simba in the 2019 live-action The Lion King. Later on, JayDon starred as Kenny Payne in the hit TV series The Paynes.
