The Remix:
An outsized character who stands out even in a city full of big personalities, Ohthatsmizz is ready to take his danceable Philly sound to the masses. In Fall 2024, the 22-year-old rapper earned a viral hit with “BUMBAA,” a banger he created with his close friend Sturdyyoungin that has generated over 20 million streams across platforms. Today, Mizz keeps the “BUMBAA” wave going, connecting with, three of the hottest rappers from neighboring New York City–Cash Cobain, Jenn Carter of 41, and Bay Swag–to create an all-star “BUMBAA” (Remix).
Flipping a sample from Jhené Aiko’s “Stranger,” “BUMBAA” is a fast-paced anthem meant for filling dancefloors, with ping-ponging, back-and-forth wordplay by Mizz and Sturdy. Mizz showcases his off-the-charts charisma in his memorable hook, which spurred a popular TikTok trend: “I’m a big boy, why she keep on rubbin’ on my belly?” On the new remix, all three NY rappers tap into that energy, infusing their own stylistic flourishes. Jenn Carter shows her sensitive side, preparing to extend cuffing season with her new bae. Sexy drill maestro Cash Cobain is perfectly at home, mixing Chrome Hearts and Chanel, while his associate Bay Swag injects some melody into the mix. In the video, the five rappers show the world how the East Coast gets down, as they dance with baddies in business casual and stock up on the song’s titular spirit.
After buzzing for years in Southwest Philly, Ohthatsmizz struck gold in Fall 2024 with “BUMBAA,” which went viral on TikTok (634k creations) and YouTube (8+ million views on the static image audio and music video combined), catching the attention of notables like Jayda Wayda and LaLa Anthony, among others. Mizz and his frequent collaborator Sturdyyoungin used the song to show off their performance skills with memorable appearances on In The Cut (4.1 million views) and On The Radar, and started a viral “open verse challenge” for the song, receiving thousands of videos in response.
Mizz and Sturdy followed-up “BUMBAA” with Sturdyyoungin’s single “Trippin,” a Fergie-sampling collaboration with ZeddyWill, which also saw viral success. The song arrived with a music video that featured a cameo appearance from Fergie herself, earning attention from Billboard and racking up over 6.3 million views on YouTube and over 10 millions streams globally. “Trippin” was adopted by members of the Philadelphia Eagles as an anthem during their playoff run and eventual Super Bowl win–Mizz and Sturdy went to New Orleans to watch the Birds win and party with their fellow fans.
A fixture in the Philadelphia rap scene, Ohthatsmizz has always drawn a crowd, whether online or IRL. The Southwest Philly native earned fame as a content creator, creating dance trends and making fans laugh with his comedy sketches. After receiving overwhelmingly positive responses on early experiments in rap music like “Chunky,” Mizz decided to give rapping a full-time shot, earning buzz in is city and even opening up for Rod Wave. In 2022, Mizz met Sturdyyoungin, and the two quickly became inseparable–one collaboration became dozens, as the duo made music together on BandLab. Mizz and Sturdy joined up with the legendary Philly dance rap crew 2Humpy, known for their local hit “2Humpy Anthem.” Since 2Humpy’s dissolution, Mizz made waves as a solo artist, often connecting with Sturdyyoungin to release red hot singles like “How It Goes” (also featuring Bril), racking up over 1.3 million streams on Spotify.
With “BUMBAA” and “Trippin” making waves in the national rap scene, Ohthatsmizz has proven that he has the Midas touch. Stay tuned for much more from the charismatic rapper in the weeks to come.

The Background:
“I’m always gonna be myself; that’s what I really stand for,” says artist and entertainer Ohthatsmizz. The 22-year-old has proven that in comedy videos and a handful of videos and songs with a million or more views—several of which with close friend and collaborator Sturdyyoungin. This budding catalog includes smash “BUMBAA,” “How It Goes,” and a guest spot on the newly-released “TRIPPIN”—complete with a Fergie cosign. Mizz draws from the courage and ferocity it takes to make it in an environment like Southwest Philadelphia and applies it to authenticity. “Where I come from, it’s okay to be yourself in your own way.”
